Celebrating My One-Week Anniversary With Passport and ...
I am loving it! Going to a casino for their lobster buffet so if you see some guy with a BlackBerry Passport in a casino restaurant's lobster buffet, that would be me. Say hello.:)
My former phone was a BlackBerry Curve 9330 so this is a huge upgrade for me. I like the Passport so much I have hardly touched my tablets this past week. Usually, I use my tablets as I do not use the Curve to browse the web and most other uses for a phone are very limited on the Curve. I have vastly improved my typing speed since Day 1. The keyboard and size of the phone needed some getting used to. At first, I planned on leaving my Passport naked. Was not planning on using either of the two cases that came with the bundle as I initially thought they did not look very nice. In fact, my first impression was that they looked cheap. I put the leather flex shell on a couple of days ago to see how it would look and I liked it. The flex shell looks better when the Passport is in it. I find that I type better on the phone when it is dressed in the flex shell. So the flex shell stays on.
In my one week of using the Passport, I have encountered four situations where I need some help from all you kind folks:
1. My Passport restarts itself occasionally. It has done so about four times the last seven days. Why does it do this? Did I accidentally hit some key or do some swipe gesture to trigger it? Or is it defective?
2. Can the phone be set to receive incoming calls when the FM radio is playing? I was playing the radio through the speakers and missed an incoming call. I searched settings to try to deal with this but could not find anything to help.
3. Is there a way to change the default "Sent From My BlackBerry 10 Smartphone" message on my outgoing communications?
If so, how?
4. Why is it that when I enter the home phone, work phone and other phone numbers for a contact, it automatically creates text number entries for them too? This is annoying as I only need the mobile text number but I end up having multiple text numbers for a contact. Last night, I meant to send a text to a contact as part of a group message. This person did not receive my text while the others received it fine. I looked into it and saw that the text apparently went to a number which does not have text service, and did not go to that contact's mobile phone.
Responses appreciated, solutions most appreciated.
