This was an issue with Symbian. Microsoft shut down all the nokia servers in 2016/17 making certain things very difficult, namely for me trying to set up email. Yikes. That said, once I figured it out I really enjoyed my N97 and Pureview 808. I will miss both.

Can one not set up email manually? I would need to be able to set up hotmail (outlook) and gmail accounts and possible a work email using imap.

Not e-mail just everything else. Apps, browser, etc.

The good thing is I don't care about apps. I would like a working browser but I don't browse much. Mostly it would be for email/ business communication.

Keep the passport.

But jou ordered the Passport and the Priv.
Try both and consider also the wonderful possibility for shortcuts and make your final decision.

Hard to "leave out the keyboard", as that is the main difference.

You get a bigger screen, and IP67 on the Motion. You get a better camera on the KEYᵒⁿᵉ.

For security, I want to be able to control what does leaves my phone (this is a problem on android OS) and what data is sent /shared. I use a rooted app firewall to lock down my Freetel. I also use an app for encrypted text, but this is not as important for me so if BB doesn't have this capability that is not a deal breaker.
Beyond that, I like to browse in private mode and reduce/minimize my footprint as much as possibly when browsing. So really, maybe 'security' is the wrong word to use but instead privacy measures and data lockdown - again mostly an issue with Android. Symbian didn't have nearly as much concern with sending data without your knowledge.

I would recomend the passport. Password Keeper is a good private browser, and all of them have parental settings. some things you can do with python and and your own website can be pretty useful if you're familiar at all with that.

I'm from symbian myself. E71, E6, and have played with the E5 and 808 pureview. Also windows phone and bb10. Q10 and Passport in that order. And I will always appreciate both Symbian for its resource management and BB10 for its security and common sense interface. But it would be nigh impossible to go back to even Belle and difficult to go back to BB10. What I've learned is to enjoy what you can on the OS but know when to say goodbye.

Some background on me: I was a Sony Ericsson guy for a long time. Had the K800, C905 then Satio. Mostly for their superior cameras. The Satio was a departure because it was touchscreen, but holy cow it was laggy. From Satio I went Android - Moto X. I really liked the phone but was eventually missing a PKB.

I then went old school in 2015 and picked up a NOS Nokia N97. I used that phone off/on for 2 years until the my daughter dropped it and messed it up. I love the keyboard/slider. Then i picked up a Pureview 808 in 2016 and its great, but the OS is horrible as far as drilling down to needed services/changes/edits and there is no 4G on the 808 or N97 . Now I have a Freetel Samurai (Android). It's huge and I'm not a big fan of it. And there is no keyboard.

So I am thinking Q10, Passport or Priv.
My needs: I want a PKB, LTE, securities (screen lock/pin lock, possibly encrypt data on phone, and most importantly for me the ability to maximize privacy and minimize personal data being sent or captured via browsers or sms With android I have to use 2-3 programs to lock down all the data leaking/sending/sharing that Android does without the average users knowledge. It's really annoying. I use sms encrypt app to secure my messages too.), be able to check multiple email accounts, bluetooth, an easy to use browser.

I don't care: I don't care about getting an updated OS, nor do I care about apps unless they are directly related to my need for email, data security or sms security.

I may end up buying all 3 to see what I like most. I like the SE specs but its overpriced. The Keyone is overpriced for me.

Great phone at time. But time marches on and the Passport doesn't. It's stuck in 2015-2016 on ART 4.3 for many of its original supporters. KEYone picks up where it left off. Check it out. Close to what Passport set out to do with form, but definitely the insides are what Passport could only dream of.

Good points that apply to a lot of people, just not people like me.

I bought a NOS N97 in 2015 and I think it was released in 2008. So I actually went from Android to Symbian and an older Symbian OS at that.

After having Android for years and trying probably +70 different apps, I realized I was just wasting a lot of time with things I don't need. To each his own though right?

Good choice and when you do upgrade to a fuller richer os that PP SE will always be remembered. A lot of us are still using that beast of a phone. Enjoy!

All three products are EOL and no longer receiving security updates - or ANY updates for that matter.

If you want a new, supported device with BlackBerry software, get the KEYᵒⁿᵉ by TCL.

Tough call. Camera is a little better on the KEYone, motion has a bigger screen , ip67...battery is epic although the KEYone battery is also great...just not quite as good as the motion. For some reason the Motion seems a little snappier. Cost is cheaper for the motion, but man I miss clicking those keys

Passport! Best screen real estate! Best keyboard! Better then q10 keyboard. U dont have to press that tiny alt key to get numbers and captitals! Pain in the ***! The priv keyboard such a letdown! It's like the old BlackBerry torch! Specs are good on the Passport also!

Apple if you want one-size-fits-all simple, Android if you like to tinker and/or customize your experience.

I'd definitely keep the PPSE as a secondary device and use if for it's ongoing capabilities for as long as possible. And when most apps are simply not working anymore, it'll still make a nice mobile e-mail/browsing/music/video watching device. Just not a primary one.
