Just like the thread title says, can you type on your Passport without looking at the keys? I watched a few YouTube videos and found one where this reviewer looks into the camera and types on his Classic, then shows the camera that what he typed out what bang on to what he said. I had a Classic and just found the keys tiny compared to the Passport. So I would end up hitting adjacent keys all the time.

I'm trying to type this paragraph now without looking at the keyboard, and I must say, it isn't that difficult to do on the Passport! Of course, its superior autocorrect (compared to the Classic) helps, but typing "blindly" on the Passport is still doable! Can anyone else do it too?

Yes, but I need to look at the keys for punctuation .

I currently type around 60wpm on my passport. I'm hoping to do the same or better on the Priv after a few weeks of use. The home row bumps on the Priv should help touch type vs the Passports larger but smooth keys.

I have to look. Guess I should have clarified that typing without looking to me pertains to just use of the actual physical keys.

Yea it isn't that hard with the auto correct and the fact that it learns how you type.

    That thing is hideous!

I can. I look onto the virtual row though and have typos betw. 'i' and 'u' as well as 'c' and 'v'
It is because the key position is different from my Q10 where I write without looking to the keys even ponctuation! (I get used to all symbols even with alt and sym keys (on my Q10, naturally)

LOL. But it is learnable! Just type a lot... with some practice time you'll get it! I started with a curve then Bold about 6 years ago ;-)

I can type without looking at the keyboard. Except for the punctuation and numbers. When I bought my passport I read in the forum that people can type without looking at the keyboard using their old BB. I thought it was not possible but after almost a year with my passport, I tried it and was able to do it. I would assume that having a fourth row keyboard will really allow me to type including symbols, numbers and punctuation without looking at all.

I can as well. Thought I wouldn't be able to master the PP keyboard coming from a Q10, but I've become pretty damn quick using that keyboard and sometimes without even looking!

The problem is the passport keyboard doesn't have the lifted 'dimples' to help guide your fingers. But it's doable yes

But seriously, I do. Just realized it a while back. I'm often watching a show and typing at the same time. No dots on the D and J, just muscle memory.

Same as everyone else says, everything except for punctuation... I love the passport, but I do miss the physical 4th row.... would gladly take a slightly longer/ taller device to add the 4th row

For the first couple of weeks after moving over from a Q10- nope. But now it's as if my words typed are just a thought. For me PP KB is easier than full size KB.

I had a Z30 prior to the Passport so I was happy to get a PKB back but once I rocked with it for a week it was cool. Just like riding a bike I guess.

I've founded this to be the hardest part of using the Passport. I tend to press on the screen as if I were clicking a key so I often get a different character. I'm not sure I'm loving the height difference between the two.

I guess I can do so reasonably well. I've even memorized where some of the alt keys are when I swipe down, like (, ), *, ", and the numbers.

But sometimes I glance down once in a while and I use the flicking to help out, so I'm not a total expert at it yet.
