I think the question is would the telus friendly passport work on vzw if allowed since they both use cdma.

Telus CDMA is aimed to be shut down by mid 2015 as most of their customers have migrated off it.

However to answer your question I believe it would work if allowed.

All Verizon 4G phones have sim cards. Why wouldn't the Passport work on their network? Wouldn't you just swap the sim like any other VZ phone since the Passport has the LTE bands?

Verizon only uses LTE for data. Well sort of apparently there are some phones that can use the LTE for their voice but they still have the CDMA.


Basicly we are their customers and they don't care. It is almost like they want to be better than comcast at that also.

Doesn't matter. Verizon has a very strict policy.. they will not activate any CDMA phones on their network that is not a branded/authorized Verizon phone. That's why you don't see Sprint phones on Verizon and vise versa.

I am tempted but really curious on how long the AT&T exclusive is for.

The Passport is unlocked and is not locked to a carrier specific. I ordered mine from ShopBlackberry, got my free nano SIM from the local T-Mobile location, popped it in, and was off and running. And it has the best reception of any phone I've used so far.
