OK folks, wiped my Passport and re-installed the latest OS, unfortunately did not fix the call mic issue. Still can only place and receive calls with the speaker. I'm out of ideas.

Looks like you have done everything possible. The Passport must have a hardware defect, I guess. Out of curiosity, did you remove your sim card BEFORE doing the autoloader, finish the autoloader and then disable auto updates? Or did you autoload with the sim installed? Not that all that would make much difference but you may have received an update immediately after the OS update before you could even test the phone calling function. (grasping at straws!)

Removed Sim and SD cards before wipe and only replaced them after OS install was done.

It is possible, although the update (posted above) came in when I checked today. Was not loaded when I tested yesterday.

    Hey Crusader,

Can you hear device audio (music, voicemail, etc) through the earpiece?

    Unfortunately, only through the speakers.

In that case yes, I'd agree with brookie. Likely a hardware problem. I'd suggest replacing the Passport.

From all my research, this is not a software issue and is a known hardware issue acknowledged by BlackBerry. I have ordered a Mic and Speaker assembly from a site in Russia recommended here at CB. Total assembly shipped was $23 USD. Now I wait and we shall see. Will update once part arrives.

Hmmm, acknowledged eh? I hadn't heard that. But yes, definitely replacing the mic and speaker is an option!

I'll wait to hear the results....

Yes, when Telus contacted BlackBerry they also confirmed that it is a known issue on several BB10 devices. Unfortunately our beloved Passports are long past any warranty consideration. Hopefully an easy swap. We shall soon see. If the part ever gets here.

Sure it is. This is tech speak for " get a new device and get rid of that dinosaur " . There have never been ANY reports of that particular problem here on CB or anywhere else AFAIK. Clearly, however, your Passport has a hardware malfunction. Good luck with the fix.

Did find a few threads here with this exact issue and also where to order Mic and speaker assembly. Can only answer calls on Speaker, not earpiece.-screenshot_20191007-181105.jpeg

I have bought from this Russian company and I can confirm they have an excellent service and sell only original parts. There are certain parts though that are impossibly expensive! At least your parts aren't! I do hope your problem will be solved soon!

They said they ran the test before the update arrived so I figured that road had gone off a cliff...

True that, but he may want to turn it off if/when he gets the Passport fixed. I doubt that update serves any useful service anyway.

No there isn't. I have 6 BB10 devices all on Telus.

You must keep deleting some system apps.

What system apps would cause the update on the same day every month?
