I currently use a BlackBerry 9900 on a Virgin contract but Virgin no longer sell BlackBerry phones. I want to keep my SIM, number etc but upgrade to a BlackBerry Passport. Does anyone have any experience of making such a swap?

Is virgin moble a GSM network? Also you will need a NANO SIM so that might be an issue

Yes, but you will need to get a nano SIM for the Passport. You should be able to either call Virgin or go to a Virgin store/kiosk and ask for a Nano Sim and have it put on your existing account.

It would help if you said what country you are in, as I think the Virgin brand is used in many countries, but is just the brand, licensed for use, not the same company.

The passport should work on Virgin. You just need to figure out if they will give you a new Nano sim on your existing account/number. Not sure how that works in the UK.

im on virgin mobile canada and the passport works fine for me, but to get my data working i had to change the apn in my wireless network settings. if you need to change your apn hopefully you can find it online (what i did) or possibly asking virgin yourself

In Canada with Virgin, where did you find the info online for changing your apn settings? Looking at upgrading as well to Passport but not with Virgin.

Hi Alan, you're good to go with the passport. It works on all the UK network providers. All of them. Get it from Carphone warehouse and it's guaranteed to be unlocked.
