    ... a few years on, turns out I tend to install large numbers of apps, which mean idle System activity invariably goes up (typically 3-4pc if not too many apps but 7-8pc if lots of them) as well as tiny daemons for some of the apps constantly running. Passport gets hotter and battery gets drained faster. Back to a reasonable number of apps and 3-4pc idle System activity.
