Hi, I bought my Blackberry Passport a few months ago, since the past two weeks I started having two problems, which I believe are non related.

First, sometimes my passport drains its battery overnight, like last night, I went to bed it had 70% of its battery, this morning it was at 10%. I left it on airplane mode, so when I checked the battery it showed that dropbox was the cause, but I have it set to not run on minimize, actually, everything on my phone is set that way. And now I'm trying to recharge and it's taking forever, it's the second time this happened.

Second problem, when I try to open articles, it redirects me to porn or some other weird sites, it started first when I tried to open articles direct from Blaq, now is from the browse as well. I did some research here, and saw that it could be the the dns on my modem, so I changed it. I also did the security cleanup and nothing, I still get the redirects. Most articles I try to open are from NYT, Mashable, pitchfork, and similar.

So I don't know what else to do, so far I did two safety cleanups, and installing everything without link, I did a few hard resets, and I don't have many stuff on my phone, just two emails accounts, dropbox, a few android apps, so I don't get why this happens. Any other ideas?

I would go to the browser and clear all cache and browsing data for starters. And stop looking at porn on your phone p

The battery issue I am not sure about. I have not had that problem. Perhaps others can ring in on that.

Are you using WiFi on your Passport when browsing?

If so, your internet problem sounds just like a problem I recently had in my home where some outside virus actually rewrote the DNA settings on my modem/router (mine is a unified unit provided by our ISP). Even after resetting the unit, within a few minutes, the browser would redirect to advertising sites, porn sites, malware sites...you name it.

I had to physically pull the plug on the unit. We went dark for about two days and then when I plugged everything back in and went back online, the redirect problem was gone. It's a low tech solution, but it worked for me.

    Never had the problem since.

Just check your battery usage and see what application / program is eating your battery. Once you found the culprit, check its permission or the way it is actively running in the background. If you don't need that, better to delete it. Otherwise, delete and reinstall the program. Check also other users using the same program and see what problems or issues they are facing too.

And about the porn, well, if you could tell me how you end up getting it, we might be able to solve the issue... seriously, I'm just interested to find out too...
