    Wow that is awesome then!
I asked because the passport is not being sold on big carriers in my country (philippines), and only sold to other gadget store. I thought I cant get the full features of the Passport when bought anywhere else other than big carriers. Thanks again!

Definitely! All you need is a wifi connection which is everywhere in the Philippines.

Go get the Passport! You're gonna love it!

BB10 isn't like the BlackBerry OS of the past.

In this regard it's more like an Android phone, not requiring a special dedicated server (BIS or BES) to talk to the Internet or Email servers.

Hope you like your new Passport, I love mine.

You should ask your carrier, as some carriers need to setup your account as a BlackBerry in order to access the BlackBerry infrastructure.

No, you need nothing special, just you micro Sim card with a data plan and you are ready to go!

In Philippines, all you need is wifi or data plan! BBMAX promo still works tho, so you're good to go!

    Forget carrier customer support. #nooffense

This is a common misconception. A regular data plan like you would use for an Android phone works fine on ANY BB10 Phone.

I have even used the Passport on wi-fi alone, without a SIM card.

The Passport uses a nano sim not a micro sim.

The APN it connects to needs to have a connection to the BlackBerry infrastructure. It is up to the carrier to make this connection. If the carrier's network does not have a route/connection to Blackberry's infrastructure, you will not get the Blackberry dots signifying a connection to the Blackberry network.

Some carriers required a special Blackberry plan in the beginning, for example Bell in Canada.
