Does anyone else have extremely annoying call issues on the Passport?

I typically spend an hour at a time on the phone with my girlfriend. During that time, my cheek will turn the speaker on several times and occasionally hang up as well.

I really hate that they didn't think their stupid UX out. It's basic.

Yes this has recently started with me as well
Numbers pressing get started and annoys person on other end.
Even I cannt disconnect the call immediately sometimes as the sceen goes black in fraction of second after moving away from ear.

Yup, those are two more things I get. Random cheek number pressing and screen going black for no good reason.
I just ran the sensor tests on bbve and the far sensor is failing... I would think the near sensor is used for this type of operation so that doesn't explain it.

I seem to remember that there was an app several years ago that would effectively lock the screen when it detected the proximity of your face to the screen. I'll see if I can find it.

Ok this is what I was thinking of but it's not really a solution for BB10, however there might be something out there: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/disab...rch-38835.html

I'd strongly suggest a bluetooth headset to reduce the time that phone is next to your head.

But the problem of cheek dialing often starts with a failed proximity sensor.

Is Bluetooth radiation quite a bit safer than cell tower radiation?

Well, yes if comparing to putting your head on a cell tower antenna.
But I believe the bluetooth is used to replace having the phone next to your head.

Appreciate the concern, still, I want to be able to reliably not hang up on someone while the phone is at my ear

My ear only touches phone speaker so I don't have this problem.

Hello, same here. I bought Passport SE two weeks ago and I'm still experiencing this problem. Sensors are ok in BBVE. This problem drives me crazy
I just installed PacketSafe and I'll see if that helps.

    Hi!
Have you tried to run blackberry Virtual Expert to check it is a sensor malfunction or STH else?

Yup, far sensor does not seem to be working but pretty sure it's not the only cause for this problem.

Yes to screen going black awkwardly -- no to pressing buttons.
