As well as the 'Duplicate Tasks' thread I posted earlier this evening, there is also another Calendar issue: if I tap Go to Date in the Calendar, then tap Add, the Calendar crashes. Happens every time.

Have you tried ALL troubleshooting? Even OS reload?

The problem actually lies when it is only happening to your device. And as of the issue you mentioned, my calendar is perfectly working...

    Try a soft resetting...

Yes of course, didn't mean to imply anything other than it's my device affected. Words on forums can be quite damaging to the good reputation and hard work people put into software. I'm always aware of that.

It's late, don't know why I didn't think of reset. Thanks for that. I'll give it a try in the morning and post results.

Okay then, here are the steps taken:

1.) Soft reset using both volume buttons simultaneously.

    No cure doing above, so...

2.) Backed up all data, text messages etc using the brilliant Backup Pro.
3.) Security wipe from inside the Passport which took less than one hour. I have no access to Windows or Mac. Never used either, so Blend is not an option.
4.) Downloaded and installed these apps from BlackBerry World: Backup Pro, CB10, Wall 10, Lastpass, Xmarks.
5.) Have not added or configured email accounts. Just logged into Backup Pro and logged into here (CB10).
6.) Successfully restored data from Backup Pro with no errors.

    No cure doing the above

The two issues that persist are:

1.) From a closed Calendar app: open and press the Go to Date button in Calendar and select for example the next day. On right side pop out menu press Add Task, choosing date of next day as Due Date. The result is that I am left with two identical tasks, one for today and one for tomorrow, but both with today's Due Date.

2.) From a closed Calendar app: open and press Go to Date button and as previously select the date for next day. Press the large central Add button and the Calendar app immediately crashes.

I shall now repeat the above steps without re-installing any apps or data, so in other words a completely pristine Calendar app.

    Software Release: 10.3.2.2474

    Will post results.

Oh that was just the 10.3 update. It's that way for everyone.

I don't have a Passport but I use a Q5 and I experience both Calendar problems that you describe. Here are my workarounds.

To avoid crashing the calendar, I convert to the Day mode when I want to add or edit an appointment. It doesn't crash in Day mode. Then I change back to the Agenda mode.

As for the Task problem, I only add Tasks directly from the Remember app. And I have it set up to display in the Calendar.

You are not alone in experiencing these issues. I hope they repair this Calendar once and for all.

    I hope this helps.

Right then, these steps have just been taken:

1.) Did a second security wipe from within the Passport.
2.) Left with as pure a Passport as is possible. I know of no deeper reset than a security wipe. Have I forgotten something obvious?
3.) No apps installed and absolutely no data re-installed or intentionally created.
4.) Opened Calendar and ran through the same testing steps mentioned in previous post.

No cure by doing the above

5.) Opened Blackberry World and downloaded/installed CB10 to post this message here.

So folks, any ideas? I'm probably overlooking something obvious, just don't know what it is.

    Thanks Double_Fault

Thought I was imagining things :-)

Yes, I forgot to mention that everything happens from within Agenda view.

You need to get a hold of a PC and do a OS reload. It goes deeper than a factory reset. And most likely will solve the issue.

Thanks again shawnreum. Enough tinkering for today though. Have a busy week ahead and little time to devote to this. All Calendar/tasks are now written into a paper Filofax.

As it looks as if I'll have to obliterate everything from this Passport again, I'll just slip my SIM card into an old 'phone calls only' mobile until next week.

    I'll report back then

    Mine crashes too.
Solution: the way you enter an appointment: you cann fist type "add" then modify the date from there.

Instead of agenda view (which is worse than it was on OS 7.x) use month view and type on the date you want. There you get a week bar and a daily agenda view. There it does not crash when adding a new appointment.

It has to be a programmation issue, a never ending loop or so. I suggest not to wipe again because it does not solve it.

Just change your way to enter the appointments.

    Workhorse: BlackBerry|Q10, SQN100-3, OS 10.3.2.2639; Power Workhorse: BlackBerry|Passport, SQW100-1, OS 10.3.2.2639 ; Germany.

    Thanks Anischab

Don't think it's worth the hassle of going through an OS reload. Simply don't have the time.

I'll just make sure not to use Agenda view. Problem solved. I refuse to get stressed over computers.

By the way, I'm liking the paper Filofax. It's almost impossible to break, and every one that leaves the factory behaves in exactly the same way
