They say that the good son returns home... and no matter how the years pass I don't leave BlackBerry. Currently on my job they gave me a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, but my father and mother have each one a BB PRIV that i gave to them as a present. My question is, can I buy a PASSPORT Android somewhere?

There was one testing(?) unit with android lollipop roaming the wilds once, but it returned home to BlackBerry.

But to answer the question, no you can't.

Not unless you get your hands on a dev Passport unit which was pre-loaded with Android.

But this dev unit will be property of BlackBerry, with some label or Inscription on its casing stating 'Unit Not for Sale'.

There is no commercial Passport with Android OS.

Dev units can have their own specific issues!

Why not just get a Priv or KeyONE instead?

Cause my father broke his PRIV and he wanted something smaller with physical keyboard... The KeyONE is 800 boxes and up! Another PRIV is just US 250

Other question, what about WhatsApp on the Passport? It doesn't have support and updates anymore?

Support maybe ends after this month but there is possibility for extended support like we witnessed last year. And if the support stops you can probably use android version of whatsapp.

Screen width, important to many of us. The only reason for me getting a Mate 9.

At this time and date Nemory's version of whatsapp has the same problems as the original android app.

Android Whatsapp works fine on my Passport, just no media sharing. There is a fix /patch for that too if you want to give it a go.

    Send from my BlackBerry Passport

In that case I would go KEYone. Much better than PRIV

An autoloader to replace bb10 with android reversably would interest me but is not something I believe ever to occur
