This phone really appeals to me, my network don't support it however and I'm a bit worried about putting down 400-500 for a phone and having the next one come out soon after. I've never owned a Blackberry phone before so I don't know their product cycle or know if they're planning a second very soon.

Should I wait or will it be good for the rest of the year? I can wait till September of that is when they release new phones like Apple. However if there is no plans for a second, I'll buy it now and sell my iPhone.

There is no official word about when Passport 2 will be released. I'll buy it now and enjoy it

Their next hot phone is the Slider so there won't be a PP2 for quite a long time.

I felt the same as you. My PP arrives on Tuesday.

From what I know, BlackBerry pushes out phones very slowly. It was a few months between the Q10 and Z10 release, about a year before the Z30, then another year before the Passport. The Classic came out relatively fast after the Passport, and next in line is the Leap and Slider. Will probably be AT LEAST a year for the next Passportish phone, and by then the price for the first one will have gone down enough that you could buy it easily.
My advice? Get yourself a nice cheap Q10 or Z10 and wait til the price goes down, if you absolutely can't afford it yet. If you CAN afford it, do get it! It's sooo amazing!
