Hi , I broke one of the brass pins on my pp, due to a cut down sim.. No phone repair shop can get hold of a new sim reader module, does any body know where I can get the part. Thanks

I think best solution is that give a call to BlackBerry customers service cause we all likely to have least one year warranty on it.

But passport parts are not available yet anywhere online. So the best bet is to call BlackBerry.

Also experienced the same problem... the SIM cutter wasn't perfect so the SIM was stuck in the reader and I tried to pry it out with a pen and damaged one of the pins in the process... anyone have any options other than contacting BlackBerry (I've done this already) for a Passport SIM Tray repair?

I live in the San Francisco area and there is a phone repair shop in San Mateo that repairs Passports. They have access to the parts.

Thanks man - I'll try to find a local shop to take a look and get a quote. If it's under $260 CAD and takes less than 10 business days, it'll be worth it, lol.

Answer to this question from another post:

The SIM is integrated with the main motherboard, so it's likely to be an expensive item, and at this point probably only available from Blackberry.*

I did find this link - someone with one to sell:*http://tinylink.net/o9A

And this link, which offers SIM card tray repair worldwide:*http://www.mobiledeviceworkshop.co.u...der-connector-...

    There may well be others.

I was able to fix it myself, gotta be careful and use a soldering tool but it seems to be fine. Good luck

Tried holding mine in place on Z30 just to see but it didn't work. Not sure if I want to try to solder the new one on myself or pay someone 100 to do it.....

I bought my passport used with a damaged sim pin and had no luck finding the exact sim tray for it at the time. Lucky for me my father is a jeweler who happens to have a laser welder with a microscope. He was able to actually replaced just the broken pin with a pin out of an old curve I had. Has held up and been working fine for a few months now. There are nano sim trays on ebay for cheap that are listed for a nexus as well as other devices that look close and may work. I never bought one as my method was cheaper for me. Lol! I wish you the best of luck finding a place to do the repair.
