    Which do you prefer, and why?

    I like Bluetooth because it is easier on battery, but it actually is slower now that 4g speeds have exceeded bluetooth speeds.

    Also, wifi hotspot is easier to activate in quick settings than BT.

    I used Bluetooth tethering, although maybe I should have tried the WiFi hot spot, as I have to pay $12 extra/month for the data tethering. It did work well for me - speed wasn't an issue as I was using it to tie into work to do remote support and I had all the speed I needed for that.

    It doesn't matter how it is connected, if your carrier charges for tethering, it can be USB, bt or wifi.
