It's the MacBookPro Bluetooth stack.. it sucks.. I can't pair my Z30 to my MBP nor can I pair my iPad to it... I used to pair my bold 9700 to my MBP with a teather app for the MBP, but that's all it was good for... couldn't pair for any other services

My Z10 pairs perfectly as all my Blackberries have. I send files to and from the computer all the time. You should be able to send from the computer to the phone with no special settings, to send from the phone to the Mac you need to turn on Bluetooth sharing in Ststem Preferences on the Mac. Click on "Sharing" then select bluetooth sharing.
I think its the Mac rather than the Blackberry. The Mac will only reliable connect to other apple products.
Mine will work, then lose connection, very frustrating.
I was doing tests in my Mac Mini (Mac mini - Late 2012 - OSX 10.10.3 ) and having some erratic connections.
I can send images from my computer to Passport but not the other way.
Have this error:
After that in the Mac bluetooth preferences says: Not Connected.
It's the MacBookPro 's Bluetooth stack... it just doesn't allow it, it's different... It doesn't even comment with some other apple products to do file transfers
