This is perhaps the worst feature of passport. I find it takes forever to answer anything. Siri and Google voice infinitely superior. Can one download Google voice apk on it somehow?

I wouldn't say infinite. Yes. It is a bit slower than the competition but the response is infinitely more accurate and useful.

Also don't expect it to perform miracles. Go through the tutorial and read the examples of commands listed for you. Garbage in, garbage out.

Yup it is slow. But it's more versatile than other mobile os voice commands.
I hope an increase in speed is in the works.

It is a brand new feature and as always BB will tweak improve and add to it over time.
Slow?? I don't find mine to be that slow. Do you press the on screen button after you give it instructions?? Most people don't and they find it slow so I suggest trying that and see if that improves the BlackBerry assistant.

In what ways? Looking at comparisons.
It's horribly slow. Takes 4x Siri time. Has anyone tried installing google voice on it?
I find it pretty fast actually but I've never tried the rest of the competition so...

Works good for me. I am almost always connected via wifi when I use it. Maybe you cell service isn't great. Did you try it on wifi?
No because it probably doesn't work??...why don't you try and install it and let us know if it works..

Quick question out of curiosity... will BlackBerry Assistant allow for talk-to-text for dictating and sending messages? Speak them instead of writing??
+-keystroke queen-+
It works on the passport already

That's cool.
How does it work. No physical input needed to send text after waking device?
Yep just activate by middle button on side and give it instructions as to what u want it to do.

Google Voice is a Voip service...
Google Now is Google's answer to Siri.
I think the Assistant is an excellent feature.
Especially when you use text input which is much more convenient.
Personally, i think it is weird to speak to your phone (unless you have to like in your car) and my friends also agreed that's the reason why they seldom use the assistants on their devices.
They are pretty darn amazed that you can access Blackberry Assistant from the main screen with just the keypad too!
