please, please give us a decent keyboard layout, don't make the same mistakes that Nokia did in the past with their fashion designed non-functional weird keyboards. Take the N3650 as an example and don't make the same mistake they did.

Shortly after they released it they came up with the classic, functional layout on the N3660 to save the investment made on the hardware.

They are referring to the 1440x1440 Q30 'Windermere' having rotation lock. Not the overall ability, but the fact that they are releasing a QWERTY Physical Keyboard device with the ability to leverage landscape mode.

As a 9930 to a Q10 user, I don't see the problem. I remember being a little skeptical with the straight keys on the Q10 after using the curved keyboards for so long. But now, as I hold them both in front of me, the 9930 looks like the odd one...you adapt.

Fortunately, we can look forward to the Classic if the Windermere is too odd/expiremental. It's nice that we'll have both choices.

LCD, especially IPS LCD, you can totally turn off the backlight. With super AMOLED, you can only dim it so far. Nothing is totally "off", it's dim. I dispise AMOLED, but LCD I love. Turn off the backlight and use it in bright sunlight, you have no problem seeing everything if it's transflective.

I'm not so sure because the device seems so large..
And I wonder about his ergonomics to type on.. I can't wait to see the device. At the moment, the Q10 have the perfect form, not too large, not too tall, just perfect, even better than 9900 for me..
I'm afraid the Q30 will be too large, too big for me..

Before the Q10 came out Curve owners were saying that the Q10 was too large. I would guess that most consumers do not want a 3 inch screen.

Well if the Windermere turned out to be too large for someone he could always have a look at the Classic with its 3.5" screen.
I don't think the Windermere will be that cumbersome, the passport format is perfect for me as i don't mind using two thumbs for typing (i rarely only use one), and the comfortable screen estate is well worth the extra width imho.
Can't wait using BB10.3 on a >4" screen!!!
