It would be very expensive for BB to develop a device that's only intended for one narrow market...
True, but I don't think I said said "only" that market, but I can see where you might get that from the way I worded it.

I'm really not sure about this flat design. I don't really mind the icons without the boxes around them, but I wonder if it will mean that it's harder launch apps etc.

I think it's going to take some getting used to.

this square monster might make some headway in the medical industry and for people who work out in the field. I'm grasping the concept now and I think it could work in that niche market.
Very good point considering BlackBerry making a move into the medical field. At first I'm looking at this thing thinking "this is going to be laughably big twice the size of a Q10. Who's gonna want a Woolly Mammoth for a phone?" the answer = tech and medical professionals; it won't be their personal device but there work device. BlackBerry is trying to bring back the glory days.

Windermere, work around single device "Phablet" for professionals.

    Well said Forbidden rice man.

This device can be the closest friend of busy professionals. I am having a tough time viewing the excel and word files in my q10.Along with an innovative physical keyboard and good battery life this will for sure have got the potential to bring back old BlackBerry glory.

My mind was racing like crazy when I saw the "QuickTape" icon. How cool would it be if it was an ultra fast opening video or picture recorder that as soon as the icon was clicked, it would either start recording video (instantly) or take a picture (maybe without even opening an app, just aim the camera and click the icon for an instant picture.

I agree. It's 6 Active frames per "Home Screen"

Just like all other BlackBerry 10 device, the active frames can scrolled downwards depending on how many are open.

See the screen shot. 6 Active frames max.

That sounds... odd. I look forward to seeing it but I don't see how that improves the home screen. In fact it sounds more confusing and ugly.

Sounds like the Windows phone with various size active frames. Three larger ones along top row, one on the next space bottom left and four smaller (half size) in the space where two would fit in the second row. At least that is what I understand mifinn is stating.

I think this would be helpful especially if these frames can be position permanently where the user wants.

Yes, you are right. They might change it later for which I am not sure about, but what I have used on windermere is exactly as you have described

    Posted via CB10
Can you share some screen shots? And do you know if it will be customizable? Because I think I would prefer just 4 large active frames like currently.

I find the q30 really repulsive. What do you think?
Please tell me it's not the one you are going to launch as a flagship device.

I'm not so sure because the device seems so large..
And I wonder about his ergonomics to type on.. I can't wait to see the device. At the moment, the Q10 have the perfect form, not too large, not too tall, just perfect, even better than 9900 for me..
I'm afraid the Q30 will be too large, too big for me..

That is actually a very neat way to fit all eight Active Frames in a single page!
The possible square still has me doubtful, I just can not imagine a NES controller-shaped device to be very comfortable for longer periods.

Is it possible to give a general first impression of the keyboard quality and ease of use? (I just want to know if it has tactile feedback, and if it is comfortable to use).
