Enter the 80's...The Blackberry SE is very much designed after some great 80's products such as the famous Seiko Arnie H558 and the crafty Realistic SCR17 boombox radio. The Blackberry Passport SE is nostalgic in every sense. Here are some pictures to see what I mean:

I think it matches my trusty old Timex Atlantis more than your watch... Then again, I have the original black Passport and not the SE. Tradesies*?

Huh... you're actually right. Especially that boombox similarity, since both things had the sense of being built up like tanks.

    Thanks for sharing OP

Wow, no love for the Polaroid! Haha!

That's the first thing I thought when I saw the phone!
Really fun taking pictures in that ratio! Another inspiration for design. I love the retroness of this phone!

Polaroid does still make instant cameras, if only BlackBerry and Polaroid had teamed up to add this feature to the Passport....

Lol. Silver color is about the same but making the connection to the 80s is hilarious. Silver is class and quality. BlackBerry owns it and they should patent the color.

If memory serves it does take design cues from a classic SLR camera.
    I can't remember which one.
IMO the Passport SE is the best looking smartphone ever made.

"Looks like 1986, runs like 2016" isn't exactly the same as "Looks like 1986, runs like 1986" though.

Tell her the SE automatically books dinner reservations at romantic restaurants...automatically sprouts a dozen fresh red roses (using the shortcut "r" key on pkb)...and finally, has incorporated in its silver frame a thin layer of redundant material which can be melted down and forged into her choice of necklace, earings, or bracelet.

It's design is even more vintage than 80's... more like 50's/60's film cameras.
