Looking at the photos, those of the Q30 she'll look like a Z30 with a small keypad at the bottom, you can see it's elongated....ratio looks really good, this device excites me
16:9 display and a small keypad at the bottom or an area for a track pad perhaps...
I'd guess as we have a Z3 all touch screen, then maybe the Z5 will be scrapped, it doesn't follow any sequence of numbers for their devices...looks like a wide Q5 which is aweful.
There is no way those frames house a 16:9 screen AND a keyboard.
Blackberry is already reluctant enough to go to 4:3 from the current 1:1, so speculating a 16:9 screen is far fetched. Unless it's an extremely long frame (think iPhone 5 with the Typo kb) we shouldn't be making 16:9 predictions so frivolously.
4:3 + KB is the answer IMO. Not sure that is coming in the next batch of phones from the mockups using these frames I've seen.
I don't think it's exactly a perfect square as you outline with a rectangle because the photo is taken on an angle. It would make sense if this were the Q20 that will have the tool-belt and then the square 1:1 screen up top. It's always interesting to see the leaks. I knew way before that the Q20 would be of no interest to me. Waiting for the Q30 with taller screen and not a 1:1 screen ratio.
The q30 is still going to have a 1:1 display too, that is the large device with a 3-row keyboard that has already had photos leaked of the actual device.
I'm under the same impressions. Q20 is the first classic lineup phone with the tool belt. Pretty much a modified 9900 running OS10. Q30 is the evolution of the Q10 with slightly bigger screen and no tool belt. Then the Q50 which has a 5 inch screen and a much wider footprint compared to the other qwerty devices oh and no tool belt of course. I'm only expecting the Q20, Q30 and Z50 as the three high end devices for this year and the Q50 first quarter of next year.
Actually q20 seems to be more a q10 with a slightly bigger screen and the toolbelt, there has been no credible leaks of a second smaller size qwerty to directly follow on from the q10 and then the q30 seems to be a 4.5" rather than 5" display because if you do the maths on those two screen sizes a 4.5" model comes in at a similar width to other phablets whereas a 5" model would simply be too wide to be popular.
Or we only see "the screen"/display part of the phone...

the leaked production photos (the photos found in this tread, showing more or less what the body of the phone will look like) don't match up to the leaked cases. This thread shows images of a candy bar type shape. But the cases all show more of a brick of chocolate. Again, I say, someone is wrong (cases), or the images posted as production Q30 parts, are false.
I cant wait to see how the final production design would be.... it looks like it would be a very slim device considering the side frame pics below
Yea, well the Q10 has the same exact slim frame but it's not a slim device. You do realize that this is just the device's front section and that it still needs it's back plate.
The photo that says "q30" appears to just be the dev alpha c housing.... You decide though
Based on the actual resolution (1440 x 1440) on the Q30, the above pics does not match the screen size horizontally... so I guess this cannot be the Q30 frame....
