Interesting. After reading this thread last night, I shut off BB protect, plugged in my Passport to charge up, turned on Songza for my going to sleep music. I'm about 15 minutes shy of being off the charger for 5 hours on a moderately busy morning for emails, BBM, texts and calls. I'm at 95%. Normally, I'd be closer to 90-92%. There does seem to be a difference.

Honestly this is no way to 'check' for a difference in battery.
Also, losing protect isn't worth any amount of battery life.

Good luck if you should ever lose your BlackBerry. Not worth losing protect for a bit more battery life.

Protection comes at a price. it's one of those things that's great until you lose your BlackBerry, then i don't think you'll think it was worth it.

It's not as useful as it once was so I don't use it. Plus I don't go anywhere without my BlackBerry. It's always close by. Besides...you can never have too much battery life

You'll change your mind when you forget your phone at a restaurant or bar, and don't realize it until you get home.

Not as useful as it once was?
Wasn't the whole point of it to allow you to remotely lock/soundoff/locate your phone?

Extra features were just that. Extras. Which most people probably never used. I know I never did in two years with a 9810

Throughout my history of having cell phones I have never lost one which included phones half this size. I think I'll be ok.

If anyone steals my phone from me they deserve to have it because it is always on me. I'm not the careless type with phones.
