I am considering going back to using my passport if we will continue to be able to use Whatsapp beyond 2017.

It appears that although there aren't any major new features coming to BB OS, BB is still supporting.

Just like with Telegram, is someone likely to come up with a paid app for WhatsApp, after they discontinue it at the end of this year??? I am not willing to install android on my passport. If I am going to do that, I might as well buy an Android BB.

Not being able to use WhatsApp is a deal killer for me, since I really need it for my work.

    thanks in advance.

thanks, however, I took A look, but it appears that is a fix for being able to send media files.

Does not appear to be based on, description, reviews, and file size of 125 kilobytes.

I prefer not to either, but unfortunately, it's a necessity for me.

The only option you have is to use the Android version on BB10 but there's no telling how long it will work for as it's unsupported. If WhatsApp is important for you though and you have to buy another Passport I'd say it's not worth it.

    It's an Android app IIRC.

You CANNOT install Android on BB10. Period. Never. Cannot be done!

I would strongly recommend that you bite the bullet and move to BB Android.
There's a learning curve, yes, but I did it and survived just fine. If you make the move now you will be able to make the move gradually.
If you wait until WhatsApp doesn't work anymore, then you'll be having to move over a weekend, in a panic, and that's no good.

I moved from a Classic to PRIV because I couldn't get Google Hangouts to work on my Classic, despite all of Cobalt's fine work.
I survived and now am comfortable on "The 'Droid".
