Hello, I just bought my BlackBerry Passport 2 days ago & the system just eat the battery like it's lunchtime.. I bought this phone used from the stores, I do understand that this BBOS need a few days to stable but aren't they stable enough when they were in the store collecting dust? Some said it provides because an SD card & android apps, but I removed the SD card & ALL android apps yet it stays the same.

I just did an experiment last night with 100% fully charged at 2AM & the battery are left with 20% at 9AM! The system were sometimes insanely skyrocketed to 70% while I'm typing this but constantly at 20-30 % at every moment. How's this even possible? Is there anything wrong with my passport? Please help because I really need that battery to survive my daily Routine. Thanks all.

Thanks for the thread.. So it's normal to have these batteries issues right after the OS update? If so, looks like I have to stand with the battery drainage problem for a week (worst case scenario) & heavily rely on Powerbank? I hope it'll be solved within a week or so..

Is there any other way other than waiting & crossing my fingers & hoping for it to work which has a 50-50 chance ? Aren't there any obsolete conclusion?

Please try a factory reset if not reload the Os. I had similar issue on my BlackBerry Bold 4 last week reloaded the SW all good now. My passport give me easily a day or 2 depending on my usage.

Thank you as well! I've been trying out some options and others since I got my SE last month. Couldn't fine anything really effective. Never saw that soft reboot option to calm things down.

It's only on 2G & 3G & also I off the data roaming bcause I live near the border. It also very hard to get 4G here so I'm stuck with 3G only. As the network selection mode I chose automatic because I can't select it manually, everytime I manually select it, it will goes to automatic selection mode.

Thank you OP and responders to this post. I thought my PP was just getting bogged down with apps and draining the battery, but after the soft reboot it seems to run faster and use less battery.
Does anyone know why the soft reboot seems to have a different effect on the device than using the power button alone to restart

Me myself doesn't have idea why, I just try an error & seems like it's work. Bugs perhaps?

I recommend also going into the setting under Application Permission and disable "Run When Minimized" for each app.

Anyway, how long your battery last & what you do exactly with your Passport? I mean like social media (twitter, fb, instagram, snapchat, etc.) OR just work like emailing, instant messaging or stuff? How long you think that you used your device for the entire day (like 20%-40%, 30%-70%)? Thanks.

Typical daily usage is below (not related exactly to above graph).
    Phone: 20-40 min
    Email (4 accounts): 30 - 50 messages sent, 50-70 received/read.
    Browsing: 20-50 min
Messaging: Telegram and BBM only. Not much, 5-15 messages.
    Music (Neutron): 20-60 min
Evernote: reading saved web articles, working with notes, etc. 20-60 min.
Bedside mode on in the night.

And I'm still "playing" a bit with the phone (bought recently), installing/deleting some apps. Mostly native, I avoid sideloading.

That was awesome! I almost last 18 hours a day & usually charge when I go to bed at 30%. Thanks for your information by the way. Appreciate it.
