I hated my Q10's amoled screen for everything but beside mode.

I will never buy another amoled phone, especially one that has the nausea-inducing pentile pixel arrangement (as the Q10 does).

It can also dim to a lower brightness for use at night (my Q10 barely changes from low to high).

This is one of my major complaints with the Q10. That's why I almost went back to the iPhone when I first bought it.

Think BlackBerry decided against amoled because with the passport form factor it's possible to fit a very large battery and still have a thin phone. The non amoled screen also shows off the form factor better.
As the battery will easily last a day for almost all BlackBerry passport users non amoled is the better choice.
If the phone were a little smaller and the battery size had to be reduced by 30% as other components cannot be shrub then amoled would have made sense.
