I have been using my BlackBerry Passport Silver for the past 6 months and its been great! Lately, I've had the chance to go back to my Z10 and use it for a while too. Undeniably, the Z10's screen is MUCH better. Even though on the Passport I have contrast turned to maximum, the screen does not display text/images as crisp as the Z10 does. I think this is because the glass used on the Passport (Corning Glass 3) is noticeably thicker, creating a gap that disperses light. It might also be because the IPS technology in the Passport is not as good as the Z10. Compared to the Z10 side by side, the Passport's viewing angle is at least 30 degrees less in every direction! I am very disappointed that the Passport's screen cannot hold up to Blackberry's first BB10 phone. Anyone else experience the same?

No not at all...never found the OG display difficult to read at high angles. My settings where most of the time at half brightness, between cool and warm white and max dynamic. Maybe you can play with those settings?

While the Z10 has great specs for a phone that old, OMG there is simply no comparison. The display on Passport is stunning under all conditions. Not to mention the Achilles Heel of the Z10. Fingerprints!

Go out into the sun with the Z10 and the fingerprints washed out the screen! Hahaha! But it was my entry into BlackBerry 10 so I praise it for being a snappy phone. I still use my very tired Z10 as my media player.

Then there is something wrong with your settings or the screen on your passport. Compared side by side there really is no comparison. I love how bright and clear the Passport is, especially outside in daylight. I just did same comparison as you, side by side inside outside, same settings. Passport wins hands down.

I upgraded to the Passport from a Z10. No huge difference. Certainly nothing to complain about.

I loved my Z10, still do in fact, it was and still is a great phone, I loved the form factor, but I cannot say the screen on my Z10 is better than the one on my Passport. My passport has a great screen. It is as clear or better than my Z10.

Z10 has an amazing screen no doubt about it. Much better than th z30. However the passport is amazing too.

Honestly I agree with the OP. I actually prefer the Z10 screen quality to my passport.

The Z30 screen, on the other hand, is absolutely awful. The Z30 is now unusable to me because of the terrible screen.

I have used z10 q 10 z30 and q10 and passeport, me I prefer amoled with black, when I use wake up on z30 is so pretty just time is on, on z10 and pp screen is on.

But I thinks screen on both off them are real good.
