Same. It seems like the changed the sensitivity of the ambient & proximity sensor which is used for the "swipe to wake" I experience the same thing sometimes when in full on sunlight.. for the latest OS they changed the sensitivity of the swipe to wake to minimize screen on time in the pocket. Weird that this change seems to effect the ambient light sensor as well, somehow which causes the screen to dim...

    Anyone know of a fix?

I have exact the same issues. All other passports in our company too. So it is not hardware related

Yes, have the OEM screen protector that came with the hard shell case. Never had any problems before this OS.

Why it dims to such a degree and why we don't have the option to disable it is beyond me. Wonder if it's happening on other BB10 devices with the latest os too?!?

Only look at the phone when I'm in the the shade or indoors? Now why the heck didn't I think about that?!? Thanks Mr. Trauma! I feel like such a dumb***. All this time I was blaming it on a an os that might need a bit of upgrading and tweaking and the true solution was right in front me. No more trying to look at my phone outside while in direct sunlight for me!!!

This was happening to me. I tried covering and then uncovering the sensor, which usually works but doesn't anymore. But when I cup my hand around the screen to try and see it better, that seems to kick in the sensor and the screen brightens. Kinda weird and not sure if that's on purpose or a bug.

Good to know it's not just me. I was starting to think it might be a hardware issue.

I guess this is one of the drawbacks about going with an unreleased OS.
