    Hi folks.

I'm looking at buying BB for first time as result of great reviews - Blackberry Passport - in fact.

But would be international model as I'm from Australia - just wondering if anyone that's purchased the international model has received new OS? And going forward is there any reason I wouldn't get OS upgrades if I owned international model.

    Appreciate any thoughts or assistance.

I have an international model and I have been receiving all updates the same day they are launched, no matter what carrier SIM I'm using, I had to use wifi to get the update notification though.

I've an international model and I receive updates as soon as my local carrier makes them available. The update depends on your sim carrier regardless the same are downloaded OTA, GSM or via BlackBerry link. That's the way it is.

Is there an international model? I thought they all had the same LTE bands, no?

BB.com says this for all Passports:

    Network bands
    FD-LTE 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20 (2100/1900/1800/1700/850/2600/900/700/700/800 MHz)
    HSPA+ 1, 2, 4, 5/6, 8 (2100/1900/1700/850/900 MHz)
    Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

My guess is that international/unlocked are names used for the original passport versus the AT&T version

Mine is unlocked from Amazon but I haven't been pushed the update yet. Not too worried since my phone runs great on the firmware I currently have.

I purchased my Passport from B&H Photo and have been receiving updates as soon as they are available. I'm not sure where they got it from.

Update restrictions must only apply to BlackBerry's purchased from a carrier.

Weird, as far as I know all shopblackberry and amazon factory unlocked passports should receive the updates as soon as available. Did you try to check for updates on wifi network or without SIM card?

I did do the check with only wi-fi on. I'll pull the SIM later & give it a shot.

Tried pulling the SIM & rebooting but no dice. I'll hook up to Link later & try that.

Right, sorry. I wasn't referring to the ATT one. That one may only have North American LTE bands.
