The pouch has magnet in it, that's why you see the Passport sleeps when being put in and wakes up when taken out. So it confirms that Passport has holster functionality. (yes, why wouldn't BlackBerry build a top product without the holster, right? :-) )
And yes, this isn't one from BlackBerry, it is from a third-party provider in Vietnam.
So, Passport has a way to sense a magnet from a case/holster, but no way to actually do anything about this condition such as....react differently when alerts happen. Nearly 2 years after BB10 is released still the most basic advantages of using a BlackBerry are missing.
But, hey, at least they put in a reverse contrast option...that was critically important. How did I get though life without that before?
The sleeve doesn't have an LED viewing hole. Deal breaker.

Actually it does. You can see the LED blinking in the video (about 9:34) when he puts it in the case. The cut out section at the top includes space to see the LED.
