Blackberry Passport doesn't finish loading
Hi everyone. My Passport stopped loading. The loading indicator goes up to ~56% or sometimes even to %100 but the OS interface never shows up. The screen just turns off.
Since this started happening the OS loaded up only once and even then it was unintentional - the phone was in a half-disassembled state. When I put the panel back the phone went blank again.
I disassembled it a couple of times and here is what I noticed. Nothing seems to come loose, there is no smell of burning. The battery is flat, not bulged. The processor (?) in the upper right corner of the phone heats up noticeably while loading. Pressing a finger directly against the processor casing increases the chance of loading to more than 56%. If the phone is assembled and plugged into charger the load percentage increases when I press against the upper right corner of the screen. It may even reach 100% but then the phone blacks out.
The phone is not detected by my PC and doesn't display any kind of indication when plugged into the PC or the charger.
Some things I suspect: processor overheating, the motherboard is not sufficiently powered, the motherboard conductors are damaged, some component (e.g. front facing camera) is not connecting with all its pins, the memory is damaged, there is some software interruption, the USB connector is damaged.
Does anyone with some hardware knowledge can shed some light on what may be the cause and if it is possible to fix it? Is there diagnostic mode that would allow me to see device logs?
Is there a paid option for Blackberry to replace my motherboard? Can I just buy a motherboard somewhere? Warranty repair is not an option.
Cheers,
Ivan
