I'm thinking of buying BB Passport and planning to use it in the next 2-3 years...still have lots of doubts...Would that be a good investment into the near future? thank you.

It's depends upon what you need. If you want games, apps it's not suitable for you. But if you wanna device work like a beast in text, words, excel, office uses. Passport is best choice!
I'm proud of using my blackberry passport for last 1 year 5 months! Definitely coming years I don't change my device. In future If blackberry release the next passport version with full BB10 os I will choose that too.

Well, yeah, and it's not just for work / office uses, i use it to browse and stream/download music and talk shows and watch or download videos too. The same question for all BlackBerrys, are you happy with all the apps you can use with it or are you an app-junkie who needs something it doesn't have or can't get?
The only thing I dont do much with the Passport is use the camera, but that is only because i usually carry a smaller phone with me and leave the Passport home for my couch potato hours
I think everyone needs to have a Passport on board, as others have stated it really can take the place of a computer.
Sounds like you are using some kind of a Passport and other phone combination? What other phone are you using then as your daily driver?

if u value productivity yeah.. definitely worth it. go for the silver edition for better antenna and pretty good aesthetics

It's a beast of a device but as everyone already said it depends on what you want to use it for. I hope BB continues to support BB10 for at least a few more years.
It's definitely worth it, I use it for everything.

Q10 now, was using the 9900 most of the time before that. 9900 is better for music streaming, both in data saving and dependability to just keep on streaming. Part of what gave my Q10 the upper hand for me to stop switching the simcard, is I damaged the pins with a nano simcard adapter, so have it working now by bracing it in there with a thin piece of cardboard. Amazingly its perfectly functional. The Q10 makes a killer pocket-sized phone but so does the 9900.
the Passport is a great playtime browser as well, it took me forever to realize I could just turn it sideways to scroll with the keyboard touchpad vertically, only flipping it back over if I want to type something.
Today playing on my Leap, tho. What I think BlackBerry can help most everyone eventually realize is we all need ---a tiny keyboard phone for carrying everywhere, ---a bigger keyboard phone for serious work and play, and ---a slab phone, just BECAUSE.
Got a little off-topic again, sorry!
I bought my black Passport and I plan to use it for the next two to three years hoping that a Passport 2 is issued in the meantime.

Best BlackBerry I ever owned
Blackberry Passport Running 10.3.2.2813
Thought I would give a windows phone a try... use it for three days and returned it for another new passport just last week. Can't beat the solid feel and butter smooth OS. My previous one I had used for 2 years. Dropped 100 ties with no case. Finally on the 101th drop the radio/cell went.
Main reasons I recently got another Passport:
- solid build
-form factor excellent for reading emails and consuming content such as pdf files etc
- Battery life!!!
- BB10 is fantastically smooth
- HUB. Windows phone inbox style just doesn't work for me.

It makes more sense to buy a Passport today more than ever. The Blackberry Passport will be one of these rare icons that people will pay premium to get hold of.
The Passport is still fast enough to be a workhorse and the browser manage to render most modern we-pages.
... and forget Passport 2, Blackberry will not survive that long.
I have a Passport and absolutely love it. However, I know that it will lose more and more functionality over the course of the next couple of years as BB World developers abandon BB10 and BlackBerry, itself, lets BB10 devices languish (already happening somewhat with the stock browser, Facebook app, camera, etc.). That being said, there seems to be really good deals on used (often mint-condition) Passports that people are leaving behind. I would not hesitate for one second to buy another used and well-treated Passport for the $150-$350 CAN I have seen them listed at. However, given what the future holds, IMHO it is no longer worth the $600 CAN sticker price to buy a new one.
It's great phone, love mine, how different it looks, the keyboard and the large screen. App wise big no, had one nearly two years, whilst I'm in no rush to lose it, I find myself using my work iphone more and more. Shame realty as it's a great phone!
Swiped on my Passport!
In my opinion, the BlackBerry Passport SE is ahead of its time and therefore very relevant!!!! Like most have said the OS is butter smooth, the build and looks are solid and unique, and as far as apps or lack there of who cares, as for me this phone gets it done!!! Enough said.

I have been using blackberry since Bold 9780, and had had all the blackberry devices since. Very addicted to the BlackBerry device.....last year September, I fell for the app BS, sold my passport SE and took the plunge for Iphone 6+....used the iphone for 10 months....and then gave it to my fiancee, and then returned to the passport SE....its a great device even without the apps......notifications are nuisance to me except email and text messages. I added a homescreen shortcut to the banking apps and other apps I use and those work like magic.....BB10 is going nowhere, so get it and use it. If it doesn't bother u to have facebook, instagram, snapchat and all the data mining apps, then I will say go for it....i am enjoying mine now

Mine is coming next week!!! One as a backup if BB10 phones are no longer produced by that traitor Chen.

I switched from a Z10 to a Passport. I really like the Passport. I'm not sorry I switched...and I had to switch carriers to get the Passport.

Back on my passport. Had the classic for a few days and the outdated specs clearly presented itself and it became frustrating to do simple tasks. The passport on the other hand, doesn't lag and it's a beast of a communication device. Home sweet home...

If something happened to my Passport SE, I'd buy another one.
That's how I know that buying one in 2016 is still the right choice for me.

I purchased a Passport a week ago I even switched carriers so I could use it , I moved from a Q10 on Verizon to a Unlocked Passport on AT&T and it's the best move I have ever made. Great phone reminds me of a note 4 I had but obviously better since android is not running it.

If you are looking for the best cell-phone camera at present you should take the Samsung S7 into consideration. I had the chance to watch it working a few days ago: pretty impressive!

I would say yes, because it's great for browsing, reading, music, etc. Also, there are some games on BBW that are fun and work ok on the device.
