    Yes It's a smart phone.

In fact if my original passport had a black tie it would be the smartest phone

I think we need a calibration question.

    Is this a smartphone?

    I'll be honest, I'm pretty sure it's smart...but I'm not so sure it's a phone.

Let me explain. Most of the problems I have with the Passport is its phone feature. When talking to someone on speaker phone and the screen goes dark after a while, I can't unlock it by pressing "u" in order to hang up. Touching the screen also doesn't work...I literally have to hit the power button at the top of phone, which when lying flat on a table, isn't always the easiest to reach.

Also for some reason about 20% of the time the phone feature gets horribly frozen when using with my car bluetooth system. I can't use the phone for 2 minutes when this happens. Yes the car's bluetooth system may have something to do with it...but it's just so frustrating that I can't use the f-ing "phone" feature of what is essentially still primarily a phone.

Not sure how things like this were missed...I guess all the obsession with useless aps and BB10 gimmicks, they forgot how to actually make it work as a phone.

I consider my Passport to be a smartphone (and the best smartphone I have ever owned), but quite a few clients refer to it as a 'mini-tablet'! (Not as in a 'dig' about the size, but because of the functionality and the large screen-size which means that I no longer need to carry a tablet with me to review spreadsheets, PDFs and PowerPoints).

    An oversized feature phone!!

    Looool

No seriously, I tend to feel it's more of a mini PC, with calling capability than a "smart phone". It significantly reduced my tablet and PC usage, and enhanced my mobility drastically more than any other device I've used.

I use everything in this darn thing!

Ohhh ... what I really like is the leather holster you have for your Passport. I wanted one of those but they are pricey AF.

And I wish the OP would have clarified what s/he was asking and what his/her take was. Hard to understand if s/he/both were asking a serious question? Or if s/he/both was trying to get the Crackberry community riled up?

    I would say mission accomplished.

well... was reduced to 24 on Amazon and I only tend to buy one holster for the lifetime of a device
So why not getting a nice holster, just a simple leather case for best protection that does the job for the next two years or more, yeah would be even better with the proper BlackBerry berry on it...

Well, I once had a colleague ask me if I could bring up a document on my "mini-tablet", referring to the Passport. He clearly didn't see it as primarily a phone. Although I never thought of it before this thread, maybe he didn't realize it was a phone at all.
I've had someone ask me if my recently acquired Passport SE was the "new BlackBerry Note".
