[Note: I've asked a similar question about BB Blend in another subforum]
When discussing BB's competitive advantages here in the US, I always get something like, "Well, I can already do that with iPh or Android". In all of the hoopla over the big launch one thing I have not seen is the following:
What is the competition to BB Passport? [Ok, kinda obvious at first glance, but think about it...]
What are the competitive advantages of the BB Passport over its competition's comparative offerings? A list of, say, seven bullets that can fit into an elevator pitch is what I'm looking for.
Most of the Passport reviews I've seen so far have obfuscated the above. Not sure why BB itself does not have a single web page hammering these competitive advantages home... unless they are also obfuscating (I sure hope not..).
Anyway, each of us would surely like to be in the best position as a "prosumer" to promote this thing!
The main advantage is the ability to view and edit content more effectively than on other devices.
The screen is just plain wider than anything else out there, without being absurdly long. No one is going to read that much vertically oriented text or media on a 16:9 screen. The ability to navigate using the keyboard allows navigation without obstruction and the sheer size and resolution of the screen means zooming to content is just not necessary in most cases. Keyboard shortcuts and gestures further enhance "reachability" otherwise impaired by a large screen.
In a nutshell, all your content is "just there", ready to enjoy and create, no panning around, no switching to landscape, no obstructing digits.
What arethe competitive advantages over a 1 ton dodge, ford or chevy truck? From equivalent feature range. Their prettymuch the same.. each year one has 5 hp more then the other and some other extra features yada yada

Every prosumer should have a list of solid bullets/facts to promote this thing, beyond slogans and promises of greater productivity etc... What we need is
The Passport is better than the competition in the following seven ways:
1. ability to view and edit content more effectively than on other devices. 60 chars per line instead of 40 [Thanks, Easy G!]
i) no more truncated email subject lines
ii) easier to read spreadsheets
iii) ?
2. Revolutionary and unique keyboard
i) Faster and more accurate typing [although the negative reviews seem to deny this]
ii) touch-sensitive keyboard.
iii)
3. BlackBerry Blend. Better than Continuity et al because...
I'd like to fill out this list and make it available to prosumers. If we can't make a strong case for competitive advantage, then something is amiss in the whole project. ;-)
