I really doubt it replaced BlackBerry 10 with Android. It's probably an android launcher or so.

Unless it's done by BlackBerry themselves, I think there's no way to replace BlackBerry 10 with an other operating systems. (since root is required)

Either way, I do not want Android as OS on my BlackBerry. Nor does POTUS or various other world leaders who use BlackBerry today. Very bad idea.

I'm guessing it's done by BlackBerry. Clearly not a launcher

It's definitely not a launcher, but it could be a screenshot from Android that someone ran through Photoshop and then opened up on their Passport. Though I think there may be some validity to the recent Android rumours, I'd take this photo with a grain of salt.

Noticing the BB logo by the WiFi bar adds a little more reason to believe this. I think we will know on the 23rd

If the BES supports other OSs and keeping the same security level then I don't see a problem for BlackBerry to choose android to replace their OS. Intact I think it's a logical move. BB10 has many features that pure android doesn't have but if BlackBerry can build those features on top of android OS then BlackBerry will be back in business. this is just my simple pov.

And no more swiping up to get to home screen. Screw that I'm all in with BB10 and Passport marriage. Androids sucks!

This seems kind of convincing. The aspect ratio is correct, and there's a BB data symbol next to the WiFi. Also notice the model is stated as SQW. The text isn't photo shopped its part of the display.

    I'm scared for BB10.

Well staying to what he say

It's the future Android version that BlackBerry is still working. Currently is not completed, for example there is the icon of the Hub but isn't working.
This version is going to be available only for Passport and Slider, the others devices doesn't get it.

This person is close to BlackBerry. Anyway everyone can evaluate if this is true or a fake.

    1st reply:

if they really do come up with an Android-BlackBerry, an Android-Berry ... really they have hit bottom

    2nd reply:

I am puzzled, but I'm not convinced that it is a choice so crazy ..

    3rd:

for the direction they have taken, to service providers not, but broke with the story of the "Mark of Excellence"

    4th:

what they lost years ago. Today they are one of the many brands to excellence mediocre

    5th:

with the latest releases made by the CEO, and with this move probebile, the only thing to do is see them drowning in Android-Apple-WP

That could easily just be a customized "About" information screen, made to look like android.

Or even a home screen changer similar to the app, Home screen plus

With progress of software development of getting Android onto a BB10 device. I would lean more towards that picture being doctored in some way over it being the real deal.

Now if the guy posted a video from device start up and then went thru settings of the phone, than he might have a leg to stand on.

Image is fake, the About Phone information is incorrect, device should come before android version. After version should be baseband. Even 4.3 is in this order.

Also note: android version will never go more than 3 digits length. So the image on twitter showing 5.1.0.xxxx is also a indicator.
