Any of you ever get tempted to use one of your old devices for a day? Was tinkering with my old bold 9000 this morning and it brought back memories.. such a rock solid device! I might get a sim adapter for my nano sim and use it for a day or 2.

Yup. Right after I boot up MS-DOS 3.3 and plug in my old 14 in VGA monitor so I can listen to MIDI music on my Ad-Lib sound card..

I absolutely do it from time to time. I think the back of the 9900 is perfect as it has a ridge for fingers to rest. Absolutely a very comfortable grip.

Nope! BlackBerry os 10 does not require BIS so you can't just switch back to an older device! Once you are provisioned out of BIS you can't go back as its not supported on bbos 10 whereas now any data pack can be used for all new bblackberry's.

Sometimes I do. I always liked the trackball. It was the BlackBerry I had for the longest amongst a slew of them. Yet when I look at the phone I wonder how I got so much done with a tiny screen. : )

I agree with you. The thinness of a phone doesn't do anything for me. The 9000 for me was one of the best looking phones blackberry made. It was think enough to protect all the internals, thick enough to confidently hold in your hand without the worry of dropping it. I don't know what the 'thin' craze is for. I couldn't care less. Do people eventually want to fit their phone in their wallet? Do they want it that thin?

Being a bigger phone, the 9000 provided a rugged feel and look. Now anytime I pull my passport from my pocket I have to pay extra mind to how I'm holding it so that I don't drop the thing.

There was a time when folks were returning their 9000 because it was 'too big'. We surely hit an all new paradigm in that aspect as of late...
