    Does not recognise my passport now?

    It says ' cannot communicate with the device'?

    Any ideas how to overcome this!

    Are you using the BlackBerry USB cable? Try a different cable. Is your PC recognizing the device in the mass storage? Do you have the latest BlackBerry Software installed? Just some initial thoughts.

    And don't forget to reboot the PC or Mac. I had this issue once after a fresh install of Link. Although it does a reboot, it needed a second one to function properly.

    Yes it recognises mass storage
    My OS is 10.2.3.680
    Latest beta link and blend installed

    I can't get Link to recognise my Z30 at all now. Blend recognises it through the same USB cable but Link doesn't. I've reloaded Link and done reboots etc.

    Still no joy!
    As I posted earlier Blend find device via USB but not Link!

    Seems like you and some others are beyond the basic troubleshooting. My devices on .680 are all fine on Windows laptop with the exception of one (fine with Link), but where is my update!

    Anyway, hopefully someone with more knowledge will offer some help for you guys.

    Make sure your connection settings are all cleared.
    You could have connected the Passport once before and selected the option for the computer to recognize your phone as a mass storage device. So now every time you connect, it's being seen as a mass storage device by your computer.

    See if you can locate the device software on your computer that windows initially installed on the computer. Remove it off your computer.

    Than hook the phone back up and let it reinstall.

    Which software?
    Blackberry device manager, link, drivers etc?

    If so, I have uninstalled above and then reinstalled it still no joy!

    How do you remove just the software driver?

    If I remove BlackBerry software it removes link, blend and drivers together

    On Windows Device Manager>Computer>Blackberry>Blackberry Device. Right mouse button on it and Uninstall. You get a new windows than check Uninstall Device Driver box.

    I'd remove all BB softwares (Link, Blend, autoloaders, etc...) and than uninstall the device itself.

    Done this and then reinstalled software and Link now recognised my device and allowed me to backup
