I had the same problem periodically. The settings indicated the voice was on, and the volume was all the way up, but I heard nothing. A hard reset would usually fix it, but later, the voice would go away again. Frustrated one day, I hit the assistant button ("mute" key setting) and told the Assistant to turn on the Assistant voice. It worked. It's been a month or two now, and the problem has not re-occurred.

I just loaded Verizon 10.3 update and Assistant doesn't have any volume at all. I can ask it and it responds, just no volume. Haven't figured out yet...

Same here. BB assistant lost her voice today. I took your suggestion and uninstalled Evernote and it started working. I agree someone might want to check that out.
