This is ridiculing everyone, there won't be any q30 anymore. If someone curious to know how is 10.3 looks like here is the answer "BBDroid" Mixture of both.

Those specs are crazy looking. We shall see if these specs actually hold true. I have seen purported specs for a BlackBerry like this previously, and the device never saw the light of day. In effect, I am cautiously optimistic.

Because it makes the lives of app developers a billion times easier and on a 4 inch screen you can't see the pixels anyways because the PPI is too high. It would just add cost to go higher resolution. Cost and probably a decrease in battery life.

Why was display only 1280x768 resolution ?
    11-18-13 01:19 PM
  8. meltbox360's Avatar
They could go up to something like 1200p (I like my 16:10) and that would be nice. However the logical progression is to stick to the current resolution and simply quadruple the pixels when displays get up there. Then apps can scale up linearly without distortion and eventually there's a display upgrade. Like what Apple did when moving to retina.

To be frank they have not sold enough BB10 devices for this to be an issue. If BB makes it and stays in the HW biz they will sell more newer devices with 1080p than what has been already sold. So by that logic unless they want to support the 100Ks of Z10s locked in a warehouse there is no market reason to stick with 720p apart from cost & battery life. To legitimate reasons to be sure.

The specs are excelent but the problem of BB never were the specs.

With a good price, and google play, I belive that can sell like coconuts in Brazil...

These specs would be amazing, but with BlackBerry it's the timing that they need to work on...

At the end of the day specs don't matter, it's optimization.

Don't believe me? Apple has been doing it for years. iPhone run on lower end specs and they still run really good, same for BlackBerry.

They have been hard at work making sure that BlackBerry 10 is optimized on lower end processors like duel-cores...

So although these specs are awesome, it's a matter of when is BlackBerry going to drop this thing...

No matter how many times you tell people that you don't need a 7 core processor they still won't believe you... for them it's a matter of value, i want to get more for less... I'd rather have a 8 core than a 2 core for the same price...

I really don't care fore specs as long as the phone doesn't begin to slow down after 2 months due to poor optimization like Samsungs.

If BlackBerry wants to win people back, they need to make sure this is dropped in a proper times frame and not delay it...

The holiday season would be great but that's too far away and at that point the Hardware would be outdated.

BlackBerry needs to get this stuff out while it's still current and people will want to use a BlackBerry.

I love mine, and i sold my HTC One for it because again OPTIMIZATION

But the phones look killer though... although there are a lot of inconsistencies due to the fact it's an Italian website and it's just rumors

Here's the specs, in Italian mind you, but you should get the gist:

So, notable highlights to me are:
    • QWERTY
    • 2.3GHz quad-core proc
    • 4" touchscreen, OLED, 1280x768
    • 3GB RAM
    • 16GB device storage
    • BB10 OS 10.3
    • Non-removable 3300 mAh battery
    • 16MB main camera + 5MB front camera
    • No wireless AC added
    • CDMA not specified (might just be non-CDMA variant, obviously)
    NICE!!!!!

A hardware race doesn't make any sense! There are and will always be some Androids that have superior specs.

What really could sell are some use-cases that can't be done via Android or iOs!

    1) mobile computing: two possible ways to go: First possibility is an upgraded bridge for the OS! Also release versions for Windows 8.1, Mac OS, iOs and Android Tablets!
Second: let the OS connect to a Monitor, keyboard and mouse! The UI/UX should be optimised for bigger displays and should provide a great experience.

    2) cars - BlackBerry owns QNX and should know first hand what the automotive industry needs/wants...

Doesn't matter at the end of the day. The phone will be outdated tech wise and 6 months to late. Priced higher than the competition

in other threads you complained that other phones have better specs than BB... now you complain about 64bit....

The truth is, the "other phones" with great specs are slow, the iphone with rubish specs and 64 bit, is killing every benchmark...

that's why I like BB10, is a great operative system, that's fast even with slower hardware... unlike android
