We've noticed that a lot of native apps are not passport supported.

The passport is a hit! Come on native devs please update your apps for the passport!

Can you tell the difference between a native passport app and a q10 native app? I would have thought they would be very much alike, any chance of some screen shots just so we can see the difference?

They are definitely different. I think that the resolution is what it doing it. It depends on how they coded it.

All Q10, Q5 apps should work on the Passport due to the 1:1 ratio.
That what's been said... I think there is still the problem of device identification!!
As you seek for apps, say available for Z30 and Z10, and see the message in red, "Not available for your device", many Apps for Q10 and Q5 don't show for Passport users in BBW as available. (unless the Passport identifies himself as a Q, what's silly)..
However... Passport is 1440x1440 whereas Q5/10 are 720x720, so you have a quarter of the screen?
Then, there is the keyboard swiping... some Apps as CrackBerry App don't even scroll when you swipe...
So the OP is totally right! Developpers have to consider to update their Apps for the Passport!

I suggest you ask developers directly when you find that an app is not properly layout on Passport screen.
The more requests they get - better chance they will look into it.

I wonder why BB didn't introduce some zoom feature (or did they?).
Like what Apple did for iPhone apps to auto zoom for iPad.

They did... at least for android apps. Still a little choppy.

So this is something the reviews didn't mention: apps for Passport differ right? Basically we have a fragmented Blackberry World.

Q10/5 apps are not automatically good on the Passport.
A lot of apps use assets that are specifically sized at 720p. And unless the developer consciously added code to make it scale to display size, these apps just show as small square on the Passport.
The second problem, as mentioned, is that developers have control over which apps can download their apps, so the Passport has to be enabled on their end.
BlackBerry World does not magically scan Q10/5 apps to decide whether they will work.
Lastly, stuff like keyboard shortcuts work differently (lack of Alt key in CB10 for example), and the Active Frames have completely different dimensions. All stuff the developer would need to work on.

So the take away message here is:
If you want an app supported on the Passport, make sure to contact the Developer, explain what the device can do now, and how their app improves you user experience. If they do not hear any demand, they will not make a move. I contacted Hype Music and Supertube as soon as the device was released for example.

So far I didn't really notice apps which are not supported. I have over 160 installed and am using them throughout the year......

Could someone write the apps that are not available in here?

iGrann seems a little chunky - the images are being upscaled in a weird way. It works, but images aren't as sharp as usual.

I have emailed several development folks about updating their apps for the passport, so hopefully they will respond, the strong opening sales will also get developers looking at developing apps again.

I'm surprised by how many apps aren't ready for the Passport. I think the Passport is doing better than anyone, even the BlackBerry faithful, expected.

Blaq looks weird, Bloomberg isn't displayed right, CrackBerry 10 doesn't have the scroll functionality for the keyboard, iHeart Radio is scrunched, E! doesn't display right either.

I know BlackBerry isn't known for their apps, but it is a little disappointing that the ones we do have aren't ready for the Passport. I hope developers update them soon, but I won't hold my breath for ones like E! or iHeart Radio, or even Bloomberg.

I know for sure that the only Passport-related change I needed to do for my app was to fix the Active Frame, although it isn't particularly asset heavy.
