    USB mass storage mode

Rogers Blackberry Passport. BlackBerry Since 2006
That only works for files that are stored on your SD card.

Why didn't you use Blend? You can do this even without USB cable... Easiest way to share files from/to your Mac ;-) Just drag&drop

    Posted via CB10
Running the latest version of Blend, but it does not allow me to drag and drop files from 'File Explorer' to my desktop.

See the thing is. Why is it this difficult, is it because of the security? If so, let a user use a 'Work' and a 'Leisure' mode. I don't get what the problem is. Blackberry wants me to use one phone as a business device and as a personal device, which i have no problem with, but this is not user-friendly at all. I guess i have to jot down a +1 for Android. Still wouldn't go back in a million years, but yeah.

Email each file individually to an email on your PC. Then save each attachment to a folder.

The manual but tried and true way of dragging and dropping never failed me and the same goes for music and videos. Enable USB mass storage mode for quickest access

Some mentioned Box and other cloud storage solutions which don't relate to the original question much. However if the OP is interested in other types of media sync then here is mine. I have a NAS (network attached storage) using d-link dns-323 with two hard drives. NAS is a WebDAV server and my z10 automatically uploads photos and videos when I come home and connect to my wifi network. I setup a camdav account on z10.

Hey, the OP can't use USB mass storage mode as that doesn't grant access to the device storage and the OP doesn't have an SD card, can those suggestions stop?

Pushbullet is awesome for moving any type of files from any device to another. Works great with my Surface Pro 3 and my Passport.

There is a workaround, but it's a bit time consuming.

First, you need to go into 'File Explorer' and select the pictures you want to transfer. Then 'zip' them. After they've been zipped, copy the zip file to your SD card, and transfer the file via USB Mass Storage Mode to your pc.

Of course there is no 'Select all' option, so you have to tick all the files individually, and of course you can't zip a complete folder. So select those 2 thousand something picture by tapping. Blackberry : Work Wide, Work Sloooooooooooow.

I absolutely agree, this is ridiculous. I gave up on blackberry link over a year ago. For a company that has a new focus on software, they really don't know what people want. Yes I love them but really annoyed with their stupidity at the same time. Transferring pictures should be a joy not a task. This where apple excels, they focus on the experience.

Talk about complicating a really simple process.

Connect the device via USB and both device storage and SD card are mapped to computer:
Best way to transfer pictures from device to computer?-ps0261.jpg

In my case W: X: for Passport Y: Z: for Z30. If you authorise access through link then these are available over wifi too.

Then if you allow through link, you can also allow access to your computer over cell or wifi remotely:

All native, no USB mass storage set. Just works.

Then just click and drag. No need for cloud storage as everything you need is directly accessible from either your device or your computer.

It's so simple I'm amazed everyone can't do it. It's absolutely no different to copying or moving a file from one location on a computer to another.

Or apparently not. As for some of the suggestions. Email attachments, zip files, use box? WTF? Dear God, why offer to help if you are clueless?

Well, the usb drive implementation is slow as hell... it's faster to just sync with box... no work required, they just appear on your computer, what is easier than that?

I find when I do a backup everything goes into a folder in my files titled "Blackberry". Not sure if this applies for media though. On a Windows PC it's simple, you connect via USB, allow mass storage mode, then click and drag to desired directory. Don't even bother with Link when it comes to backing up media, unless you're synching with iTunes.

    Use Blend.

Open up Blend go to the folder that has your picture, be it on your phone or media card in your phone. Open up the folder on your computer where you want the pictures to go. Then just drag and drop them from the folder showing in blend to the folder on your computer.

I do it all the time, it's as easy as dragging the photos from one folder to another. You don't even need to use a USB cable. Just have both devices using your WiFi.

I have used the following 4 methods (from easiest to hardest). Most have been discussed so I won't go in to detail.

Connect to blend, and copy directly using filemanager
    Wifi network shared
USB mass storage (for sdcard only)
Web server using built in python.

I use the web server method for ancient devices which don't support USB or smb (network share) and blend won't run. That's the beauty of BlackBerry, there is more than one way to do things. If the first fails, move on to the next.
