    I have tried changing the password on both my PP and on my desktop computer (where the original password etc. was still working). The new password is ok on my computer but I get sent round and round with verification on my PP - each time I type in my password it's deleted so then I fill it in again and so it goes on. It tells me that an unknown error has occurred sometimes and to try again.... I've rebooted my PP, what else can I do?

    you may have to reset your device to get it to sync properly.

    Question: Did you change your password on your Passport than proceed to change it again on the PC?
