As a Passport owner ,ex z30 ,i have to admit that even this quad core, 3gb Ram beast, very often fails to deliver smooth transitions over the OS UI.This is something that blackberry should give more attention to the final 10.3.1
Although the phone is superfast ,these choppy animations, nails the whole user experience and make it feel laggy compared to iOS and WP.
It seems that the Blackberry's "enterprise turn" has lower the important of a smooth UI experience.

Sorry, I'll have to disagree. I've had the Passport since launch day and have found it to be the smoothest BB 10 experience to-date. Mind you, I did the bare minimum on the restore from my Z30, so it was essentially starting clean -- no baggage carried over to interfere.
    Pdinos3 and Techno-Emigre like this.

Probably the OP is trying to say while it's the smoothest BB10 experience but is lacking a little when compared to iOS and WP.

Yes, it is the smoothest BB 10 experience to-date, but due to the specs.I have my passport at the latest 10.3.0.908 with no restore at all.
But i have to tell that many times the minimizing of the active frames and generally the whole UI transitions, lack the fps that an animation needs to be 100% smooth.

Yes. Coming from ios I can see what the OP means. Also there is a lot of missed touch events. Like changing toggles or swiping down from the top of the screen to see the shortcuts.

I see no issue. Passport OS very smooth. Only thing that could do some work is the camera app.

Agreed on the animations not being the smoothest. Most of the time it's fine but just like the prior BlackBerry 10 devices, the Passport gets choppy on certain screens. An easy one to reproduce is swiping back to a screen with active frames. If they have a few animated frames, the transition is choppy.

I do however agree with the poster above that the piece that really needs desperate work is the camera. The software for the camera is very, very bad. Most of the time the camera fails to even focus.
