I'm on day two and not happy with the battery. Unplugged at 1pm it is now almost 8pm and I'm at 38%. I know they say you don't need to condition batteries but should I be doing complete night charge and full discharge a few times. I'm coming from Z30 and this battery definitely is much worse so far. Everyone says they're experiencing better. Could the battery still just be settling in?

    1. Disable NFC if you haven't
    2. Apply black theme
    3. Reduce brightness a tad
    4. Disable LED notification for Email accounts
    5. Disable vibration for email if enabled
    6. If you live somewhere with 4G/LTE, switch to 3G and observe (if LTE coverage is poor and keeps flapping, it may drain faster)

NFC off, and Black theme only saves battery on LED screens like on Z30 and Q10. Not Z10 and Passport.

Other than keeping brightness at fifty percent I haven't done the other suggestions. I never did that on my Z30 and my battery last sometimes more than 24 hours. Also I don't think you should have to cripple your experience on a phone in order to get decent battery. But that aside those features weren't really used today. My phone was quiet for notifications today, so something else is causing the drain. Everyone says Passport battery is way better than Z30 but so far I don't even have half the battery life of Z30.

You have 70% remaining after 12 hours. Wow. Mine is done from 100% to 0% in that time. What did you do with your phone in that time? Is something wrong with my Passport?

Nothing is wrong with your phone. I am personally hoping for 12-14 hours full battery after settle in, but the 30% over 12 hours demonstrated in your quote would not be possible with any device, given my usage. It's all, always, about usage.

But with my usage I was getting 18 to 24 hours on a Z30. The Passport battery is bigger and reviews such as on CB and N4BB claim Passport lasts longer than Z30. As do individuals reports claiming it is better than when they used their Z30. So I should be getting more too, but I'm getting way less.

36 hours with moderate use. Battery life has been consistent for me after the settle in period of a few days.

in my case the battery drain was caused by installing snap and some android application, which app was the problem I don't know. the battery at full 100% last for 12 hours.
So I remove snap and all android app and then a security wipe.
Now the battery with wifi on, NFC off, 4G off, 42% showing 3 days life.

Give it more time. I noted the same and after a week of ownership my battery life is a lot better, but do follow the advice to turn nfc off, use wifi where you can, disable sending logs to blackberry, check you email checking frequency and set it up as you truly need it, and turn the brightness down. I can now get through pretty solid day of use. I use mine more as a phone and laptop replacement so a lot of screen on time. Also android apps drain your battery. Do your best to avoid them if you can for max battery life.

Man..how high is your brightness. I set mine to about 20%.and it looks great. Your display is using up a lot. Under heavy heavy use I get a full 10 -12 hours.

Also, if you look in your device monitor, you will see that all apps are constantly using battery. Delete the ones that you don't really use.

The Rogers 1418 build seems to have improved burn when using android apps. It still drains more with android, but I've noticed the drain is not a steep drop like before!

Looks normal to me but I'd let it settle down still if you're on day one. Mine got better by the day for about a week and has now settled in nice and consistently.

Thanks. I realized that closing WiFi and Mobile Internet extends the battery to days but that does not serve the purpose of a Smart Phone.
Could you confirm how many hours of usage you getting and is your locations services ON all the time? Thanks.

I get around 14 hours with normal usage (I'm a heavy user). Slow days over 16. I can see people getting over 20. For reference I got around 5 hours on a Z10 and 10 on a Z30.
