I'm on 10.3.1.2576 on a Rogers BlackBerry Passport and it seems that my battery life is a significantly worse compared to 10.3.0.

I installed it OTA through Rogers just last week and I see no obvious bugs at all. Everything is working smoothly and I love the camera improvements.

I noticed that launching WhatsApp takes longer, as does opening the Calendar. But the most obvious deficiency is the reduced battery life.

I thought 10.3.1 was supposed to improve the battery life.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

There are differences in everyone's battery life because we all use our phones differently.

Uh yeah..... But did you notice that your battery life was better or worse after the upgrade to 10.3.1?

Oh man.... 10.3.0 was amazing. The primary reason for upgrading was because I thought it would increase the phenomenal battery life, not make it worse. :-(

Yeah, I'm thinking 15-30%.... which is quite significant. So far, I've never had to charge the Passport during the day... but now I *might* have to top up near the end of the day.

    Disappointing.

I too have much less battery usage at the end of the day. On a few occasions my battery save has come into effect but with the relatively same usage on a daily basis my Z30 has better battery performance then my passport all with the latest updates. I agree 15-30% less. My Z30 battery will outlast my passport battery.

Battery life slightly worse with 10.3.1-img_20150413_191441.png

This is this Android Player that seems to be running in the background all the time and consuming power. I never had this on 10.3.0

Attached is the screenshot for the last 48 hours.

    Anyone else?

I have noticed this too. With 10.3.0 I'd have around 40 % left at bed time. Now I'm in the single digits. There's periods of the day that i'll blow through 20% in 30mins at idle (phone flipped over to conserve energy). It's sporadic as hell

Not as much usage, but I did delete instagram (igrann) and snap chat

I take back the slightly worse comment. It is much, much worse. On 10.3.0 I would have around 40% to 50% by the end of the day.

Now, the Battery Saving Mode kicks in at 20%.

This is a disaster. I hope there is a fix issued soon.

Battery drain is definitely worse because of the android runtime.
10.3.1 was definitely not worth the upgrade from 10.3.0 and losing desktop flash resolution.
I also see more targeted adds which tells me that either the android runtime or the sideloaded flash player at filearchive.com are spying on me.

Yes, definitely not worth it based on the deteriorated battery life. I don't mind the flash issue so much, but I have already noticed some websites that used to work that no longer work.

With time, the flash issue will resolve itself when website are rewritten for HTML5.

But the horrible battery life... that's a problem.

Don't want to buck the trend but not sure I agree. Did seem that way after the upgrade but afew weeks later I can honestly say that I've seen the opposite and battery seems bit better

    I've had 10.3.1 for a week. It's definitely worse.

Check you device manager and have close look. Is Android Player running?

My display seems to be eating my battery and i have it almost off and percentage went from 29% at full brightness and when I shut it almost off it went up to 30% any ideas, i think that is my battery issue. I have done a hard rest and nothing happened.

That looks normal. The display will always be a high number. Check for other processes like Android Player.

How many apps do you keep open? Do you have location, wifi and bluetooth connections on? Which android apps do you use? Do you have power saver mode on all the time or just when battery is low? Battery life won't last long if you're using all the most draining things at once.

I appreciate your comments, but they are not really relevant. The simple fact is that my usage behaviour hasn't changed since I upgraded from 10.3.0 to 10.3.1. All my apps are the same and I use the device in the same way.

My end-of-day battery life went from around 40% to around 10%. Somewhere, I lost approximately 30% of my battery life.

It's seems to be correct. I have lost some 20 % during a days use. I have the same stuff open and same usage.
Hey! I just found out you can have the virtual keyboard in white when checking my settings! How cool is that ...well, it's new...
