I haven't been going crazy with my Passport today, but I did use it quite a bit (still in new phone mode, so I was turning the screen on and off a lot and scrolling around). I also took a bit of time to show off the functionality to a few friends and I also listened to music through the speakers for a couple of hours while playing a board game. This battery is fantastic!

I have been using the rapid wall charger to charge my passport at night since I picked up the device. I've been getting max 12-14 per day on moderate usage at 50% screen brightness with about 3-4 android apps downloaded. Last night I tried my Q10 charger (850mA) just for kicks as some on here have suggested over charging can be detrimental to battery life.

I gotta say, so far today I have notice a significant difference. Normally by now I would be down to around 80%. This is what I'm getting so far:

    Might be worth a try

    Will update further findings later

    3) 3G of RAM
    4) 32GB Flash memory
    .
    3) - if the phone runs lots of apps/tabs/processes simultaneously, 3gb vs 2gb RAM will result in less power consumed as the CPU will not need to read from flash memory. Otherwise, it will be a bit more but probably under %1 difference.
    4) flash memory doesn't require power to keep the info stored - this is completely wrong.

No but if you are having suspect battery performance you may want to experiment with your overnight charger

Currently I'm struggling to kill my battery so that I can give it a full first charge after a reset... in an hour of 8 apps open with 6 of them being resource intensive and running background tasks with the flashlight on, it's only gone down 11%... been at 0% for the past 7 minutes. . .

Edit: oh, and Blend has been active this whole time since I got the phone..... :P

I'm also not getting the massive battery life advertised. But that's because I have it on and in my hand all bloody day long hahahaha. This battery is a beast, all things considered.

I am a long time blackberry user who left the fold after the 9900 and now coming back with the passport. I am loving this thing. Well one big reason for purchase was the battery. I am literally up from 8am to 9pm on my phone for work. I have only had my passport for three days but I am only getting about 7 -9 hrs out it before it's down to 10%. It seems to be getting better a bit each day, but is there some type of conditioning process that needs to happen? Also, what is the app that every one uses to track their power consumption? I have seen screen grab s but can't seem to find it.

Make sure you drain battery at least 3 times and see the change. I got 9 initially and crossing 17. It's increasing daily

After using the iPhone6 and Samsung S5 this thing is a monster. Absolutely killer on the battery life. Well over 18 hours and still plenty left.
I'm a fan of docks for overnight placement by my bed stand. I use my device as a night clock and alarm. Hope nice docks by BlackBerry are made available. The android ones are Meh! They don't use the same # of pins on the micro USB. I was told this anyway.......

I feel like the culprit here is the android run time. Some android apps continuously sync in the background and I believe that can be the reason for the fast battery drain.

Completely wrong? The operating system runs from the flash ram and is always reading and writing to it. So no, I'm not wrong. Also, 3 Gig of ram is going to use more power than 2 Gig of ram just to keep the chips operating and refreshed.
You seem to have no clue. The CPU does what it does and the RAM (both flash and system) have almost nothing to do with what the CPU has to do. You can have lot's of apps/tabs/processes running and and use very little CPU and conversely, you can have just one process running and be using most or all of the CPU.

I was kind've concerned with my battery today, then I noticed that this phone can handle a lot.
Gps running for 2 hours and streaming for 3 hours over bluetooth. 100 pictures taken, synced to Dropbox, moved to another cloud system.
Mobile hot spot for a while, about 18 phone calls, bbm most of the day mixed with a mess load of emails and so much more.

I've done this before with my Z10 and I would've been on my third charge by now.
I mean the screen may have been off for a total of three hours today only.

One thing I have noticed is that if you are a heavy user of CB Forums via the browser, there seems to be a lot of computation which affects battery life. Not sure if CB10 app is affected, and I will try to remember to test another brand of phone. But in case there's something up with the site on mobile, try not reading the forums for a day, see how that affects battery life. :-)
