BlackBerry delivered what they promised with the Passport. It has been two days since I am using this amazingly great machine. Battery life is superb. Mine lasted for 18 hours due to very high talktime. In my Z30 I could barely manage 12 hours. Now no need to carry power boosters anymore. The power banks in themselves used to occupy much of the pocket space. Those who say this is exceedingly a big device should also consider the size of power banks which is quite a pain which one has to carry all the time as a extra baggage.

I'm at 66% with taking my phone off the charger at 8am. I had a 45 minute DuoLingo session, some video streaming, multiple texts, a phone call and some casual surfing. I'd like it to be better but for what I've done consumption wise I think it is pretty good.

Spotify eats battery ridiculously, just like on my Z30

And I'm intrigued not to see PIM Services - it is my top battery waster. Or is it just me - with 4 email accounts and frequent sync.
PIM services on my Z10 is my biggest electron burner. Running 5 email accounts. To be expected.

I'm happy with the battery life so far. I know that it will take a few more days to get settled in but after playing with the Passport pretty regularly yesterday, it made it through the day just fine. It reminds me of the Z30's battery life, right now (which is just fine).

I know you meant well, however just so everyone knows, Lithium Ion batteries dont need "conditioning" as they dont have a battery memory. At best if your feeling up to it, after approx 30 discharges do a full discharge (every month or so take it to 1%), but partial charges are fine. Keep at room temp and try not to let it fully die on you.

I am doing a battery test comparison today (Q10 10.3 versus Passport 10.3). Both of them run 3 email accounts (1 hour sync), all social accounts and about 10 Headless apps. Passport running Blend as well.
I am doing a Minimal Use test, to find the relative minimal battery usage. Will post here once they get to 10%. Might take a while on the passport, showed 2 days last I checked. xD

Hmm. I don't think it's as good as the Z30, or is it better?
It definitely is better as by the end of a "normal" day, I was lucky to have about 20% left on my Z30 whereas this Passport has about 40%. There may be something else at play though: My Z30 was on Verizon while the Passport is on AT&T. I have noticed on other devices seem to use their battery faster on Verizon's ZLTE system (or whatever their super fast system is called) versus AT&T's "normal" LTE. I could be mistaken as I have not really studied the issue in a more scientific manner (I am a scientist after all) but anecdotally, this seems to be the case.

3rd day on mine. Was very impressed on the first day. Second day does not count as I did not do much with the phone... today I'm slightly disappointed - 65% battery left after exactly 5 hours and 50 minutes of very moderate use - 30 minutes of music, one hour of browsing, two email accounts with not that much happening on them.
Hoping that phone will still settle with battery usage.

I messed up my low use battery test because I kept actively using Blend all day. And then I hooked up the phone to USB without thinking. -_- Gonna try again today, got plenty of other things to do now. On the upside, if I count that as moderate use it still had 65% left after about 12 hours, that is certainly plenty for day-to-day use.

Don't think I will need my external battery pack from now on. Maybe I will just carry it around now to help out poor iPhone users.

I'm sure anyone switching from the Z10 will have no problem with this battery life.
I know that's right!!! I have to charge my phone at least twice on a heavy day, and I have to carry a battery power pack.

Pretty heavy use I think (many headless/Android apps, social accounts, 5 IMAP, emails and calling, heavy BBM use and Blend constantly running):

    BlackBerry Passport signed.
