I'm a Z30 user and one thing I can assure you, is that if I upgrade to the passport, it won't be because of its battery. Judging by device monitor posts I've seen the battery performance is more or less the same as the Z30.

When you're mirroring your display, this is true. However when watching a video. Selecting the "more" button (three dots) and selecting Play On, the.

Only issue here is when using the likes of Netflix APK, which doesn't support outputting directly via HDMI, rather just mirroring the screen.
And when watching Netflix on the device itself Netflix doesn't scale well and either zooms and crops the edges or squishes it all to fit onto the screen, making the image narrow. So hoping for the ability to force the android apps into a certain aspect ratio in the near future....

I know that the Passport battery is a whole lot bigger; I also wonder if 10.3.x is also better on power management than previous iterations of BB10?

One thing I have done has been to keep my brightness at only 20%. Now that may sound low however the passport's screen is truly amazing. Even at 20% it's bright enough to see outdoors.

Battery life has been fantastic. I get more than a full day of heavy use

I used to keep my Z10 at as low as it'd go and so it'd be hard to see in the daylight but that was the only way I could get the battery to last 4 hours for me, but on my Passport it's been amazing around 20-25%, and even then I need to lower it at night indoors or else it's too bright and I have to squint! :P

Agreed I've used my device quite extensively, as my day starts early! So typically from about 6am to bed time I hover around the 50% battery use.

No way,... I beat on the Z30 like there was no tomorrow some days and it wouldn't last me till bed time. The Passport is on another level, and I've been disturbingly addicted to it for the past week and a bit.

The battery life is unbelievable on this phone, best I ever had. Off charge Thursday @ 1049, it's now Friday at 2349 and I still have 49% battery with moderate usage (email, phone calls, some web browsing, texting, BBM, updating 1 app and checking sports.

Enlarging the screen to the whole hdmi monitor when mirroring through the slimport hdmi adaptor only works in powerpoint presentations for me. It does not work in pdf presentations and it does not work when live video streaming or watching videos, even though I have the hdmi display setting to 1920x1280 and I share the screen to hdmi...

Indeed enlarging to the full HDMI monitor screen when mirroring a video works. Thank you.
Enlarging does not work for pdf presentations and HD streaming in flash from TV stations. The Passport does not enlarge to the whole monitor screen as do the Playbook and Z30.
This is a bummer when streaming live hockey or soccer games to a large hdmi monitor.
