My Passport took almost a week before the battery normalized. Be sure to check if all your accounts (email, contact,,etc) are connected and syncing properly. If not, it will drain your battery. Also, better update it to at least. 908.

Also, do not drain your battery to 0 %. The new kind of batteries installed in our passport doesn't require you to drain it fully before charging, otherwise, it might just do harm to its longevity.

System should not be using that much battery. Most of the time display should be the most battery usage. Your system is doing something it shouldnt. Is this a clean phone or did you restore from a previous model?

Clean phone. Also running .908 software out of the box. Any thoughts about how to troubleshoot further?

Did your battery take a week to normalize because you had an account that was not syncing properly? Or, did it just take a week to get adjusted/warmed-up?

There's another user here that was having the same issue as you were. Charge the phone to 100%. Do a hard reset while it's still plugged in. It should fix that up for ya.

After hard reset, do I restore the phone from a backup? Or start fresh with blank phone?

Try holding the volume up and down button together. It will reboot the phone. Try that first before wiping your phone. it solved the majority of the minor issues I had with the phone.

You're not reloading your OS. You're just performing a hard reset while the phone is plugged in. Hold down volume up and volume down buttons on the side of your device until it turns off. Let go and it'll reboot.

    There is....

Soft Reset : Holding power button until the device turns off

Hard Reset : Holding down the volume keys so the device completely powers down

Factory Hard Reset : Plugging your device into your computer and restoring the device to factory settings.

You're performing a hard reset for your issue.

Thanks for the help! I have performed a hard reset multiple times the past couple of days to no avail. I will try a factory hard reset.

WAIT...did you do it while the phone was still plugged into the charger?

Yes, I have held down both volume buttons while the phone was still plug in to the charger. No change in battery consumption. Averaging 1% drain every 5 minutes.

But I have yet to do it once the phone has hit 100%. Waiting for my phone to charge up all the way, then I am going to give the hard reset one last shot.

That's a big thing. Wait for it to reach 100%. That's the first step. Wait until it's fully charged. Not 98%, not 99%, do it at 100%.

I've read of some cases that there passport got drained due to continues syncing attempts because their accounts were not properly connected. On my passport, it took a week to normalize naturally, meaning no issues, just waited for the software and hardware to "adjust". but yeah, initially, I got a little apprehensive...

    [SOLVED]

Hard reset (pressing volume up and down) of the phone while charged to 100% and still on the charger.

It's been 2 hours and 45 minutes and the phone is down to 92% with moderate use. The phone used to drain at least 10% every hour.

Thanks for all the help! Hope this helps out any others who are having battery problems.

Awesome! It worked! That's exciting. Mods should create a sticky for people that are having these issues with their battery.
