Check what apps are currently running in background. Close those apps that aren't supposed to be running and observe the battery consumption.

Maybe a more in depth explanation will help, upgraded from original passport to silver edition seven weeks ago, both passports would last two days, with daily use, before a recharge, after update,my silver edition,by 6pm,is now at 15%,where before update it was 60%.now it may be coincidence that my battery is bad after seven weeks, but,i am not sure.another thing I noticed, when phone inserted for recharge,it charges, then switches off,so when you get up in morning, battery has drained to 75%,and have to recharge whilst getting ready for work.

I have found Locations, NFC and Blend add to battery consumption. Make sure those are turned off until you need them. Also my phone gets hot and drains the battery quicker for about a day or two right after an update. Hope yours settles down.

Yes my passport battery also drain faster after the latest update, try monitor the CPU usage for five minutes, and see if any apps are consuming resources, I found box, onedrive, dropbox popup all the time.
I disabled and logoff all of them, battery seems a little better but still battery worse than before.

You don't need to log off Dropbox etc. Just pause sync. It doesn't use any battery then....

What amber LED? I have never seen an LED illumination when I plug my phone in to charge. Only the lightning bolt symbol beside the battery.

Have you signed out of any apps that require login? Some of them stay running in the background as long as you remain logged in; like Skype.

Check your Push Interval if you have any email accounts. Make sure it's not set to something like "5 minutes".

Also do you notice the right side of your device getting warm?

Same here, my BlackBerry Passport LED does not light up when charging. This happened since Day 1, not after an upgrade though. Irritating but I kind of live with it since I am too lazy to send it in for servicing.

I must be missing something here but none of my Blackberries from my Bold through all my BB10 devices have ever had an LED illumination during charging. My bold flashed a blue LED when the battery was below something like 10%. The only LED I see now are hub notifications.

Is this a charge cradle only feature? I'm thinking there could be some other issue with the device but I could be wrong.

I use to get a full day of heavy use and a day and a half of moderate use...now I get half a day with no use at all. Very annoying. Is there official word from BlackBerry or is it just a wait and see for the update to "take"? Did the update turn on something in the background that I'm able to turn off? Also, is anybody else finding other issues? Once the numbers would type in when trying to make a call. It rebooted the phone and it came back. Now I go into settings and select one category, but when I try another it won't do anything. I have to wait a couple minutes and then try again and it will work. Rebooting does nothing.

Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for another update that will rectify this issue....but how long?

An update for my situation. I took out my SD card and all is back to normal. Battery drainage went from predicted 2 hours remaining to 17 hours. Also the other strange issues I was have are gone. I didn't put the SD card back in yet, but at least I know what the issue actually was. Is it possible the update would affect the card?

Interesting development indeed. I have always removed my SD card before an update. I'm always worried about something going wrong and corrupting something on the card.
