Why did you place it near the centre top of the back? Everytime I reach into my inside jacket pocket to grab it, I manage to touch the lens!

I'm pretty sure no matter where they put it someone would complain.

    Grab it by its edges!

Do you not have much experience with phones? Alot of smartphones are this way. If they put it in a corner people would complain they are copying Iphone.

Same thing here, I have yet to adjust my habits of getting the phone out of my pocket. My fingers virtually always touch right on the lense. Yet there are quite some other phones which also use the centred camera module layout, so this isn't a BlackBerry only thing.

Seriously ? You're mad because you touch a part of your phone when you grab it? Amazing

    Z30 was perfect tho.

And the Z10 and 9900 I had before that.

Plus all the other legacy BlackBerry phones I used.

Not mad, making an observation. Saying the offset placement was 'better'

Man you have to many problems! You should be thankful because you have a great piece of technology especially from BlackBerry. While others cannot afford and stick to phones without camera.

It being so large that Passport is used primarily two handed probably has something to do with it. I doubt it was done for aesthetic reasons.

Honestly, this is hardly a real complaint is it? Half the phones out there place it in the middle of the top. Touching the glass that covers the lens is not going to cause any harm in any way.

I don't think saying 'attention blackberry' is going to help either.

I typically put my Passport into my pocket upside down. When I pull it out it naturally aligns itself into my hands. I don't think the center location for the camera is out of the ordinary at all for smartphones.

You obviously never used a Bold 9000 then.

Also, the Pearl Flip 8220 had a centre mounted camera.

I have never used a bold 9000 but here is my 9900.
Here is the photo of the back side.

Note camera placement. Off to the side. Really good!

Put the phone in your pocket upside down. I figured that is the better way to do it to avoid mucking up the lens. With that said, nobody will be able to tell anyway if the lens is mucked up since the focus is so good. *snap*

What?I don't think placing keyboard on top of the phone is a good idea.

I never thought that actually... but anyway, some phones have them in the corner, some don't.

I prefer it to be in the center.

Never like when it was in the corner, as I had to constantly adjust the position of phone correctly when taking pics and trying to align the object.

The upside down pocket placement is a good idea!!!

Also, highend cameras such dslr and pns have their lens attached in the center. :P

I've never had this issue. Sometimes my finger is near the lens when taking a picture, but I just change my holding position and it's fine.
